AN: Hey I am sorry for the late updating, I was just feeling particularly lazy yesterday and had a bad case of writers block. Thank you to the anon that sent in some inspiration to me, it meant a lot! Xoxoxoxo :3

Paring: Peter (XMen) X Reader

Recap: You (Reader) are the daughter of two close-minded, anti-mutant parents. Every day you go to the library until 5 o’clock when they pick you up, and in all of those days you had caught the attention of Peter Maximoff. One day in the library the two of you get to know each other as he teaches you all about his favorite comic books. But, when your parents come to the library to pick you up, they make it clear that they do not like him. He gets annoyed, scoops you up in his arms, and runs away with speed that no human could match, revealing that he is a mutant.

Warning: Make-out session? ^_^

“Comic Books” (Part Two)

“So…how did it go?”

You swallowed and looked down at the ground, rubbing your arms as a distraction so that you don’t start to cry.

“Not well.” You muttered.

Peter came up to you and wordlessly pulled you into his arms, crashing you to his chest. His heartbeat was so quick that it felt like his very skin was vibrating.

“What happened?”

“They don’t like that I am associated with one of  ’those freaks of nature’.” You said, hissing out their words with poison. “They won’t even let me back into the house. They disowned me.”

Peter pulled back and furrowed his silver eyebrows, part in anger and part in confusion. "Wow. And they say we’re the evil ones in society.“

“I’ve got no where to go.” You sighed.

Normally when your parents got angry they would just need some time to cool down, but you had never seen a fire in their eyes quite like what you saw when you showed up at their doorstep. They had been sitting on the couch, watching some sort of cheesy movie, almost as if everything was normal.

But once they saw you, well, it was the closest thing you had ever felt to getting shot. Each hateful word they threw your way stabbed at you like a knife, driving through your flesh and making you want to collapse. You had always played nice with the, never spoke out of turn and never fought back, so to hear them spit such offensive language at you was new. Not something you wanted to ever hear again.

“I’ve got a couch and some games in the basement of my house, if you wanted to chill there for a while?”

You were gazing at him, but your mind was somewhere else. You simply couldn’t believe that this night had gone from so perfect to so horribly wrong, it seemed almost impossible.

A large roll of thunder brought you back to reality, making you groan. “Rain? Of course.”

Peter chuckled at you and put his hand on your neck.

“What are you do–”

“It’s for the whiplash.” He said, then in mere moments you were inside someone’s basement, on the other side of town. A single drop of rain hadn’t even managed to touch you before he had set you down.

You clung to the closest wall near you as your body adjusted to the change in atmosphere and the feeling of being s rapidly moved.

“So, you’re okay with me…being me?”

Your head shot up to see him sitting on a chair, looking at you with guarded eyes.

“Are you okay with being the way you are?”

He seemed taken aback by the question you had thrown back at him, and you could see him genuinely think about what you had asked.

“If you are happy with who you are, then I am too.” You explained as you came over to where he was, sitting on the floor in front of him.

“I was talking about my mutation.” He said.

“Your mutation is a part of you, it doesn’t define you.” You reached up and touched his knee cap, which was bouncing anxiously. “I am more focused on you as a whole, not just one of your genes.”

His eyes widened as he looked down at you, and his lips parted in surprise. Your lips pulled back into a tight smile.

“Y/N, do you really believe that?”

“Absolutely.”

Everything happened so sudden. One moment you were sitting on the floor, and the next you were being held upright with Peter’s lips being smashed against yours.

He held you tightly in his arms, almost as if to make sure that you don’t disappear. Both of your lips danced against each other’s for so long, you had lost track of time.

In fact, you lost track of a lot of things. Your anger, your thoughts, the rain outside…it all just seemed to melt away.

Never before had you been so intimate with someone, both romantically and in general, and you wouldn’t give up the feeling for the world. It was like, for the first time in your life, someone actually took the time to care about you and your feelings. Someone made you their priority above all else.

He cared.

You broke out of all the restraints that your parents had put you under for years and wrapped your arms around his neck, finally making a move for yourself and pulling him closer to you.

Nothing in the world could ever make you want to leave this person in your arms. No mutated gene, no parents, nothing.

He moaned as your mouth opened under his, and things were just starting to get heated when you heard a gasp.

“Oh my…” A women said from the stairs, watching the two of you with wide eyes. “Peter’s got a girlfriend. A girlfriend!”

“Mom!” He groaned, still holding you closely in his arms.

“Oh, my boy has a girlfriend! Finally, he’s brought home something he didn’t steal!” Her face hardened as she looked at you with cautious eyes. “He didn’t steal you, right?”

He let out a light, breathless laugh. “No, ma’am.”

She giggled and spun around, practically skipping up the stairs whilst singing, “Peter’s got a girlfriend! One he didn’t steal!”

Peter’s cheeks tinted red as he looked down at the floor with a small smile played across his lips, one that you found adorable.

“I’m sorry about her.” He said, then zoomed away then back into your arms, holding up a small wrapped treat in his hands. “Want a Twinkie?”

((I opted not to give the reader powers, I thought that it was important to show that mutants and normal humans can get along, even without having the mutated gene in common. It shows the connecting of the two peoples. I hope you enjoyed it!))

Peter did you try to steal yourself a girlfriend before??
