Since Doc has a son, maybe he was a bit young when his gf got pregnant, so the son would be an adult, what is his son was somehow actually Citizen Z?

I always assumed the son would be adult, even older than Citizen Z.

It would be cute as hell BUT I feel it would be unrealistic.

Because, let’s say Simon Cruller was adopted or at least grew up with his mum and an surrogate father. There is no way he wouldn’t know everything there is to know about his real father. He is naturally curious as fuck and wants to know everything! No way his family could’ve kept this secret! He’s an hacker. He would’ve hacked into every known and unknown database to find out who his father is and where he’s at.
In season 1 he made a file about the group and got their data from his internet backup. So when the name “Stephen Beck” drops  he would crosscheck if this Stephen Beck is his father.
So while I love the notion, I can’t believe in it.

Of course different people interpret character quirks differently and it is entirely possible that this hacker never discovered the truth because he may investigate every thing that interests him but he may not be so good with interpreting social cues and therefor never would’ve noticed that his mum keeps a secret. And the mother of Doc’s son may have never stated anywhere who the father is, so they may not be a digital or paper trail to follow.

I think I wrote myself into making this believable…

So one day they talk, maybe after Citizen Z flys down to the warmer lands, when they actually meet up and of course by now Citizen Z wants to go by Simon. And when he mentions one day his full name Doc’s jaw just drops. Then he asks about “Hey, are you maybe from [location]?” and “Is your mother’s name maybe [name]? and so on and Simon feels really uncomfortable cause HE IS THE HACKER. He is not supposed to have his privacy exposed! Suddenly there are tears in Doc’s eyes and he confesses “I think you’re my son”

Oh man, that’s so Z WHACK.

Imagine them all reacting to this news. Like… maybe it all started because they were running for their lifes, Simon still not used to the puppies and kittens all around and says “Cruller. It’s Simon Cruller… if you have to bury me” and Doc asks all these questions while they are running and fighting… and Roberta has to save Doc cause there was a Zombie right behind him and Doc was so distracted that he didn’t even try to kill it.

Okay, I got something to add. Just saw a Doc video. He says he had the kid when he was 19 years old. Russel Hodgkinson is now 57 if I’m not mistaken. If Doc is the same age, and unless specified otherwise in my book he is, that would mean that his son is now 38 years old.

Funnily enough though, altough I considered Citizen Z to be younger, DJ Qualls, who plays him, is now….wait for it… 38 years old.

Therefor Simon Cruller could be his son.

And the mystery plot thickens…
