Charlie can’t drop the weight, 10k doesn’t mind, he loves him just the way he is, he’s even started slowing his pace so that Charlie can keep up with his little stubby legs.
Whenever they find a house to stay at, 10k bags the sofa and lets Charlie up beside him, but the only problem is that he can’t get up there by himself. He can’t jump, so 10k has to pick him up and hover him around until he chooses a cushion he likes and then he struggles with his little legs to tell him to put him down.
Because of the jumping issue, he also can’t do curbs. Honestly. 10k sometimes turns around and Charlie is half way up the road because he’s had to carry on till a drop curb so he can get up or down.
Charlie likes to smile. He smiles at Addy a lot and it creeps her the fuck out.
“10k, your dog is smiling again”
“Addy dogs don’t smile.”
*Charlie stops smiling*
*10k looks at him*
“See, he’s just looking at you normally”
10k feeds Charlie the remainders of his food, a lot of the time it’s twinkies. One day Charlie doesn’t touch a twinkie… 10k eats the rest and gets the most horrific food poisoning he’s ever experienced. From then on Charlie becomes the groups sniffer dog. Boy can he sniff.
When they have to run, the person closest to Charlie picks him up, normally he starts running of his own accord so they have to speed walk alongside him for a bit before they manage to pick him up.
Addy is the closest one day and picks him up, looking down to check on him under her arm. He looks back up at her, one of his ears flopping inside out, and he smiles the biggest fucking smile yet.
“I’m going to catch you on camera one day, i swear to you”
