Spoiler Alert | Peter Parker

theworkoftraci:

Request: Peter is trying to plan the perfect one year anniversary for the reader, so he asks some of the Avengers for help and they have to go through great lengths to try and hide it, but we all know how good they are with that
Genre: Fluff/Humor (because seriously, anything with the whole crew is gold)
Word Count: 3,914
Author’s Note: This took me way longer to write than I would have liked. But it’s finally done and I hope you like it (idk how I feel about the ending but hey it’s lighthearted and not awkward so).

Peter has always been meticulous in every aspect of his life—or, at least, with the important parts. It’s almost become borderline annoying with how strung up he’s become over trying to ensure that certain things went exactly his way. It probably has something to do with his occupation as a 16-year-old boy: school nerd by day and superhero by night, and how out of control things could get whenever Peter found himself out on the field, swinging through the city. His need to make everything perfect has become a coping method with him, a day-to-day reminder that he could still take control of different aspects of his life, even when things appeared to fall completely apart.

Being with you and dating you has certainly become no exception—in fact, it’s merely strengthened his need to be as perfect as he could possibly be. Especially with the upcoming event that has nearly driven Peter to the edge of insanity, always on the brink of pulling the hair out of his roots.

And that is your one year anniversary.

One year. 12 months. 365 days. 8,760 hours. 525,600 minutes. 31,536,000 seconds. Every single piece of a singular year spent with your presence, laughing over stupid jokes, curling his fingers around the hair framing your face, falling in love with your smile and the crinkle in your eyes. One year of bad jokes, phone calls late into the night, swinging around the city. A whole year’s collection of events, no matter how big or small, to lead up to the most important thought of all: that Peter loves you dearly—except it took him 10 months to admit it.

So how on earth was he supposed to encompass a year’s worth of words, memories, thoughts, gratitudes and happiness—a year’s worth of thanks into an individual day?
