A/N: Hey! I thought of this and I just got all warm and happy on the inside because Remus is such a little cutie. I hope you guys feel the same about it. I do request so request something you’d like for me to write and I’ll write it. Enjoy!
Quite frankly, the Marauders were tired of Remus’ endless pining over (Y/N). He’d come to the dorm one day and floor on his bed with a sigh before saying something like “(Y/N) looked so pretty today.” or “(Y/N) is absolutely fantastic.” or something of that nature.
One of the other Marauders, usually James or Sirius would ask why he didn’t just ask you out. Remus would always reply with something like “I could never.” or “She’d never say yes.”
This hadn’t been just going on for weeks or even months it had been years. Years. The Marauders became very used to hearing about you for hours on end. It didn’t particularly bother them but they really thought Remus deserved to be with someone who he loved. They also thought there was a very good chance that you’d like him back.
Peter, James, and Sirius sat huddled in the library, pretending to work. Sirius leaned back in his chair and said,” Something’s really got to be done about Remus.”
“What do you mean,” James asked. Sirius leaned back in and lowered his voice to a whisper.
“The whole (Y/N) thing. It’s getting out of hand.”
“Well, I’ve been working on something,” James replied.
“So have I,” Sirius noted.
“I’ve got some ideas too,”Peter concluded. The boys eyed each other with raised eyebrows.
“Should I even ask,” Peter asked. James and Sirius shook their heads.
All three of them had full intentions on asking you out for Remus. They all thought if they told the other two they’d try and stop him so they kept it to themselves. Sirius was the first to strike.
During your free period you made your way to the lake. When you were nearly out of the doorway something blocked your path. You looked up to see Sirius smiling down at you.
“Hey, can I talk to you about something,” Sirius asked mischievously. You nodded unsurely
“Yeah, sure, I’ve got a free period.”
“Fantastic.” Sirius grabbed you by the arm and lugged you to the nearest empty classroom. He looked the door behind him. When he turned back around he saw you sitting on top of one of the desks.
“Remus, kinda has a thing for you. And by kinda I mean he’s been fancying you for years now.” You felt your mouth fall open in surprise. Remus was handsome and smart and funny, you never thought your feelings for him would be replicated.
“Now, I’ve just given you highly classified information so the next step in this process would be you answering a few questions for me, can you do that?” You nodded. “Good. Question #1: do you happen to fancy Remus? If the answer is yes you move on to the next question but if it is no I need you to forget everything you’ve heard in this classroom because if you hurt Remus there will not be a good outcome.”
For a moment you were to stunned to reply. Finally you said,” Yes, sorry, yes I do fancy him, I fancy him quite a bit if I’m being honest.” Sirius searched your eyes for any sign of deceit.
“Okay,” Sirius said slowly. “Next question: would you be at all interested in going on a date with him on Saturday afternoon at Madame Puddifoot’s?”
“Absolutely,” you said enthusiastically.
“Great. Now there’s just one more thing. I need you to keep the fact that I did this away from Remus. Until Saturday you could just give him subtle signs that you’re into him. Laugh at his jokes, flirt a little, maybe a little more…” Sirius trailed off on that last remark and punctuated his sentence with a wink. You could feel you face getting hotter.
“Can I go,” you asked. Sirius nodded and you left him alone in the classroom.
After you finished all the classes for the day you found yourself trying to complete homework in the library. You had books piled high all around you so you barely noticed James enter. That was until he sat down next to you.
“Hey, (Y/N),” James greeted.
“Hello,” you replied without looking up from your paper.
“Can I talk to you for a minute,” he asked. You raised an eyebrow.
“Okay.”
“So you know Remus. You know he’s a really sweet guy and he’s smart and kind and he’s pretty hot. I mean I don’t happen to fancy guys but sometimes I looked at him and I’m just like damn. Anyway, he sometimes has a hard time talking to girls, the poor lad just gets really flustered. But he fancies you, like he really fancies you. Like I’ve said before he’s a great guy and he’d really like to go on a date with you but he’s too shy to ask so I’m asking for him. So do you want to go with Remus to Madame Puddifoot’s on Saturday?”
You were confused for a moment. Had Sirius not just asked you that earlier? Still you began to nod. “Yeah, I’d love to. I’ve fancied Remus for a long whole now.”
“That’s wonderful. I swear you’ll never regret it. Remus is the whole package. He’ll treat you fantastically. Oh yeah, speaking of Remus you can’t talk to him about this, got it?”
“Okay.”
“Brilliant. Thanks, I’ll see you around.” James got up and slipped out of the door as quietly as possible.
After dinner you were making your way back to your dorm when a something came hurtling at you, knocking you down. When you could finally grasp wha was happening you realized Peter had just fallen into you.
“I’m sorry, terribly sorry. Sometimes these floors get a little uneven and well…yeah.” He was drenched in sweat like he’d ran a long way.
“It’s fine, Peter.” You help him up and continued on your way.
“Thank you and sorry again,” he shouted after you. “Wait…wait. Wait. There’s something I meant to ask you.” He ran towards you again, nearly falling for a second time.
When he started talking he just screamed words at you quickly with all of the words jumbled together so it sounded something like,” WILLYOUGOOUTWITHREMUS!?” He was clearly flustered.
“Sorry what was that,” you asked.
“WILLYOUGOOUTWITHREMUS? HEREALLYFANCIESYOU. SATUDAYATMADAMEPUDIFOOTS,” he yelled.
“Yes, I will but-” Before you could tell him that both James and Sirius had already asked you he shrieked thank you and ran off quickly, tripping in his haste.
He got back up and yelled,”DONTTELLREMUS.” You nodded.
You waited for Saturday to arrive patiently and somehow didn’t let it slip to Remus once that you knew he fancied you. Saturday morning you woke up, put on your best outfit and made your way to Madame Puddifoot’s.
Peter, Sirius, and James were all already awake because like always Remus was the last up.
“Is that so because I reckon I’ve done something way better,” James argued.
“Oh, yeah? Well, I’ve arranged for Remus to have a date with (Y/N) today. Top that Prongs,” Sirius boasted.
“I…wait what? You did what?”
“I asked (Y/N) out for Remus he’ll thank me lat-”
“No, I heard you the thing is I did the same thing,” James said.
“Wha-”
“I did it too, kinda,” Peter mumbled. The boys looked at each other.
“We have got to start coordinating better,” Sirius sighed.
When Remus finally woke up the Marauders forced him out of the dorm quickly. Remus was completely confused.
“I honestly don’t understand what the rush is,” he whined as the dragged him down the path to Hogsmeade.
They ignored him and made their way to Madame Puddifoot’s. When they arrived Remus confusion deepened. “Are we here to make fun of couples again ‘cause I’m not really in the mood tod-” He trailed eyes when he saw you through the window.
“Guys, (Y/N) is here. Who do you think she came with? I knew she fancied someone else. I can’t be here, I’ve got to go.”
James and Sirius grabbed his arms so that he wouldn’t leave. “Remus, mate she’s here for you,” Sirius said. By the time Remus had fully processed what was happening he was almost at the door.
“Wait…you guys-you didn’t-I can’t-” Before he could finish any of his protests he was shoved through the door. Immediately he made eye contact with you. He sent you a goofy smile before making his way over.
He sat down across from you. “You look truly beautiful, listen I’m sorry about them.” You both looked out the window to where the rest of the Marauders were pretending to not be looking at you. “They can really be idiots sometimes. If you don’t actually want to be here you can go I’ll be fine.” He looked down at his hands.
“Remus, look at me.” His eyes shifted towards yours. “I want to be here. I wish we could have done this sooner.” You leaned across the table and pressed your lips to his. After a moment of uncertainty he leaned into you and put his hand on the back of your head.
There was a loud cheer from outside which made you laugh against Remus’ lips.
