Reblogging this because my mom, who works in a pharmacy, thinks this stuff only encourages unprotected sex. It’s a really stupid mentality. This shit is expensive, more so than condoms and birth control, and the side effects are horrendous from what I’ve heard from my friend who had to take it because the condom broke. So no, it doesn’t encourage unprotected sex. It’s literally the next step in protection if something goes awry in the protection you are already using. Women don’t just take this for shits and giggles. There’s a reason it’s called Plan B! It’s mentalities like hers that just perpetuate beliefs like sexual promiscuity being linked with birth control. I hate it. I won’t ever use that word. My mother won’t let me take birth control because she believes that, on top of the myth she still believes that I’ll gain weight and suddenly get cancer.
