Peter Parker had a crush, but he was almost one hundred percent positive you didn’t even know his name, which was a slight problem. Only, you did know his name and actually had a slight infatuation with the boy also. You both shared similar characteristics which could explain the connection between you. You both were somewhat quiet people but both had a burning passion inside of them, yours being art. From a young age, you were fascinated with the way shapes and colors and textures could come together to form something unique and beautiful. You would describe your art style as bright but realistic, you wanted to bring out the beauty in everyday things. You enjoyed drawing people that stood out to you and the moment you saw Peter Parker, you started to sketch him. Something inside of you wanted to get to know him, but you were terrified of the rejection you could face from him. So you took to the back and tried to ignore the want of getting to know him.

“Peter!” Ned hollered, startling him. “Dude you look creepy.” Peter blushed and shifted his gaze from you to the sad salad in front of him. “Are you ready for the chem test? Because honestly, I don’t think I am. Like don’t get me wrong, I love chemical equations but I hate balancing-”

“Wait we have a chem test?” Peter interrupted when the words finally sunk in. Ned nodded slowly, confusion prominent in his eyes.

“How the fuck did I remember a test, when you didn’t?” He questioned, as his lips curled into a smile. “I feel so smart and organized!” Ned trusted his fist into the air in excitement. Peter rolled his eyes and laughed.

“I just have a lot on my mind right now.”

“Oh is it Y/N?” Ned joked wiggling his eyebrows while Peter’s face continued to heat up. He quickly shook his head while peering at Ned.

“I meant with Spiderman,” Peter whispered, glancing around him to make sure no one heard.

“Yeah sure, you know you could go talk to her and like get her number,” Ned suggested as Peter shuttered at the thought. What if you weren’t interested? His dreams would literally be crushed, and he couldn’t risk it. The bell rang, sending hoards of tired teenagers off to their next class. Peter staggered behind, not ready for the test that was brought to his attention only a few minutes ago. “Dude, come on!” Ned pipped up grabbing Peter’s arm. They rushed to their next class and slipped into their seats just in time for the bell to ring. Peter closed his eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm his raging nerves. Deep down, he knew he would be fine, but his insecurity shined through at this moment. He felt eyes on the back of his head but this feeling was not new to him. People constantly stared at him and usually, it was in a mean way, but this was different. The eyes sent a warm, comforting feeling through him, giving him the boost of confidence that he needed. Wanting to see who the person was that did this to him, he turned around to try and figure it out. No one was looking at him anymore, they all looked at their desks at the tests that were face down. He scanned the group of people when his eyes fell on his longtime crush, Y/N. Her cheeks were slightly flustered as her eyes darted around the room, avoiding Peter’s pressing gaze.

“You may start your test, good luck to you all,” The teacher’s booming voice grabbed the boy’s attention, bringing him back reality. He flipped over the test and took another breath, reassuring himself that he could do this, and he was right. Peter Parker was the first done in the class and he was sure that he did pretty well on it. He got up from his desk to turn in his test, a new found confidence in his step. When he turned around to walk back to his seat, he found that you were out of your seat and walking up to where he stood, test in your hands and your eyes cast at the floor, hoping to be ignored. He smiled as he made his way back to his desk, excited to have a moment of peace before he set out for spiderman duties after school. Peter sighed while slipping back into his desk, leaning back and about to close his eyes when something caught his eyes. A bright sketch of a spider was on his desk with a little note attached, which read ‘I know this might be a little creepy but I saw the pin on your backpack and I kind of fell in love with it. Thanks for inspiring me – Y/N.’ The handwriting was gorgeous, it was cursive and loopy and just perfect, it matched your persona. A huge smile made its way to his face, how could his day get any better. His eyes kept going over the note, surely this was a joke. No way you were looking at him and his backpack. It felt somewhat unreal. The period crept on before the bell sounded again, signaling the end of the long day. Student’s threw their stuff into their bags carelessly, in a hurry to leave their version of hell. You took your time though, not wanting to get caught up in the hoards of teenagers. Peter noticed and began to pack up his things a little slower. When you started to leave the class, Peter ran up next to you falling into step with you.

“Hi,” Peter grinned. “How was the test for you?” He managed to get out. You giggled at his awkwardness.

“I-It wasn’t terrible, how did it go for you?” You smiled as your face started to heat up.

“About the same,” Peter responded. You two walked in silence till you reached the school doors, and Peter pushed them open. You breathed in the fresh air, happy to be done for the day so you could be home. You smiled at Peter and gave him a wave before starting to walk away to start your journey home. Peter watched you walk away, wanting to say more but he couldn’t find his words. He sighed and looked down at his feet, embarrassed for himself when a sudden surge of confidence fell over him.

“Y/N, wait!” Peter yelled out to you. You stopped your stride when you heard the faint calling of your name. You turned around to find Peter Parker running over to you. “Hey,” He panted.

“Hi?” You questioned, a little confused about why he was still talking to you.

“Listen, I kind of like you and I wanted to know if you wanted to go out on a date sometime? It’s totally okay if you don’t, I won’t-” Peter rambled.

“Sure,” You beamed, happiness coursing through your veins. Peter looked taken back.

“I’m sorry was I dreaming or did you just say yes?” He questioned. You laughed and nodded your head. “So do you want to exchange numbers or…?”

“Of course,” You unlocked your phone and handed it over to him as he did the same. You entered your number and name and handed his phone back over to him.

“I’ll text you!” Peter yelled as you continued your journey back home. An uncontrollable smile was painted on your face, and there was a sparkle in your eye. When you got home, you threw your backpack on to your bed and immediately sat down on your desk, starting to sketch out a drawing of Peter. His smile was the focus of the piece, it was radiant and jubilant and by far the most beautiful thing you had ever seen in your years of living. A buzz came from your phone, bringing you back from your thoughts.

Peter: Hey! I totally forgot to thank you for the drawing, it was amazing! You’re a great artist, when did you learn to draw like that?

Y/N: hey peter! thank you so much, i loved the spider on your backpack and i have to know where you got it from. i’ve been drawing for as long as i can remember actually! i feel like you are a secret artist parker, got anything to share (-;

Peter: I actually cannot draw for shit, but thanks for believing in me

Peter: So about that date…. Are you free on Saturday?

Y/N: yes i am! but only after three, i have to watch my little brother )-:

Peter: Okay that actually works out perfectly! Shall I pick you up at five then?

Y/N: yes totally! i am looking forward to it cutie!

You immediately regretted calling him cutie, what were you thinking?

Peter: Oh, so you think I am cute now?? 😉

Y/N: maybe… depends on how this date goes…

Peter: Shit, now I got to be on my A game!

Y/N: were you not going to be?

Peter: I honestly do not know how to respond to that, I’ll see you tomorrow cutie! (;

You flopped down on your bed and held your phone to your chest. It felt as if you were in a teen movie, your crush had asked you out! You would have never thought that Peter was doing almost the exact same thing. He laid on top of a random apartment, browsing the stars. Never once in his life did he ever think that you would have ever said yes. Best day of his life.
