Get It Together, Laufeyson

thelokiimaginechronicles:

Anonymous requested: Can I request a Loki x Reader fic, where after months of being together, Loki realizes that he’s in love with her, and he’s all ??????? because he’s never actually loved anyone ever like this, so he doesn’t know how to tell her, so he goes around to different people for advice, (whoever you want, Thor, Valkyrie, Korg, Nat, Steve, I don’t care!) but when he goes to tell her, he gets really nervous and just kind of spills everything out? She loves him back, of course. Thanks so much!!

Anonymous requested: ou could write a oneshot where loki and y/n first start realising they are in love with each other. Like something one of them did. Idk like saving one’s life or a simple act like loki taking care of y/n when shes had a hangover Or at their first date? I need romance

“Where’s Y/N?” Loki asks, shaking his hair out of his helmet. Natasha looks up briefly.

“In the med bay.” she responds, pointing. Her head snaps back up when she realizes how that could sound. “She’s patching up Peter.” she explains. “She’s fine.”

Loki nods, heading in the direction of you.

You don’t notice when he walks in. Instead, you’re focused on Peter Parker, who got his shoulder sliced pretty well.

You tie off his bandage and give him a smile.

“There you go.” you say, reaching forward to ruffle his hair. “Just keep it clean, okay?” Peter returns your smile.

“Thanks Y/N!” he says.

“Peter- next time, go to Banner, okay? I’m not trained in this type of thing.”

“Oh… Okay.” Peter says, looking down. “It’s just that- you’re nicer, y’know? You’re kinda like my Aunt May of the Avengers. Not that my Aunt May couldn’t be an Avenger… But yeah.” Peter shrugs.

Loki isn’t sure what makes his stomach drop: The way Peter accepts your hug or the way you’re able to earn everyone’s trust on the team. It makes Loki think about how you had stuck up for him countless times, even when he didn’t deserve it.

His breath catches, and he exits the med bay before you can see him.

“Valkyrie.” Loki says. The warrior looks to him, catching the bag she’s hitting before it collides with her face.

“What’s up? Ready for some sparring?” she throws a punch that Loki deflects without even thinking about it.

“No.” he says. Valkyrie looks confused. “I need your help.”

“Listen, if you’re looking to talk, that’s what Y/N is for.” Valkyrie grins. “She’s good for more than talking huh? It’s been, what, four months now?”

“Six.” Loki corrects. “In a week or so that is.”

“Then go talk to her.” Valkyrie says. “Talking about emotions? Came to Earth so I didn’t have to do that.”

“I… I can’t talk to her about this, because…” Loki trails off. Valkryie stops her training, giving her full attention to Loki.

“Well, shit.” she says. “You’re not in-” The glare Loki gives his fellow Asgardian is so sharp she bites the word back. “You’ve got it bad.” Loki scoffs, throwing his own punch that knocks the punching bag off its hook.

“Look, I’m not… Just tell her, okay Loki?” Valkyrie sounds concerned, she doesn’t like to think about this type of thing. Not after Hela. “Gods. Get it together, Laufeyson.”

She leaves, leaving Loki to wonder what to do next.

“What is it that ails you brother?” Thor asks. Loki enters the room, making sure it’s empty (particularly of you).

“It’s about Y/N.” Loki says. Thor knits his eyebrows.

“Is she alright?” he asks.

“Yes.”

“Have you had a fight?”

“No.”

Thor pauses.

“Do you no longer care for her?” Loki doesn’t speak, taken aback by the thought he would even be capable of that. After months of being relaxed by your presence, impressed by your many forms of strength, becoming speechless at the mere sight of you, the idea that you wouldn’t be anything but important to Loki was like a fever dream.

“Loki. I swear on all the Nine Realms, if you break Y/N’s heart, you will be in a world of-”

“No!” Loki interrupts him. “No, it’s-” Loki clenches his fist. “It’s the quite the opposite brother.” he calms himself. “I’m.. I’m in…” Loki can’t finish.

“Ah.” Thor sits back on the drab couch. “You don’t have to tell me.” he says as gently as a god of thunder could. “I understand.” Loki collapses next to his brother, breath slightly off from the stress.

“Loki, why is this torturing you?” Thor asks. “Being in love-”

“Don’t say that.” Loki says.

“Why not? Is that not what you feel?”

“I- I-”

“You cannot expect to admit this to Y/N if you can’t even do so to yourself. Loki, you must-”

“I can’t!” Loki explodes. “What should I say? That I would die for her? That I want to spend the rest of my life with her? That no matter what I’m doing, she’s in the back of my mind? That she makes me see past the selfish dream of being king?” Loki shakes his head. “Awesome as she may be, she is still a human.” Loki looks at Thor. “How could she feel even of sliver of what I’m feeling for her?”

Thor’s eyes are full of pity when he claps Loki’s shoulder.

“Oh, brother.” he says. “If there is anything the humans match us in, it’s emotions.” He stands up.

“I cannot give you any more wisdom than to tell her. Unlike you, she doesn’t hide things. If Y/N didn’t feel the same way, I think the two of you would have parted ways several days ago.”

“Loki, you picked the perfect night for this.” you say. He did: The sky is lit up by stars, the moon fulling and filling the top of Avengers Tower with golden-yellow light. Loki can’t help but notice the way if catches your eyes, and he leans forward to kiss you.

It’s somewhat unexpected, but not unwelcome (never unwelcome). You accept the kiss, crawling into Loki’s lap. He’s cold, much like the air outside, but Loki brought a blanket. When you pull apart, you settle with your back to his chest, and Loki wraps his arms and the blanket around you. You stare at the stars for awhile until Loki moves your hair. He begins peppering kisses down your neck, his hands flat on your stomach. You hum, leaning further into him, and just enjoy the moment.

“What’s this all about?” you ask. Loki’s eyes meet yours. “Loki? Are you alright?”

“Yes.” he says. “I am now.” you give him a confused, turning around so can see him better.

“Now that I’m with you.” you give a short laugh.

“I don’t understand…”

“Y/N… Just let me speak, okay love?” Loki looks nervous, so you nod.

“You’re unlike anyone I’ve ever met.” he says, fingering a lock of your hair. “You are kind, yet fierce. You’re beautiful, and aware of it, but it’s never something you brag about. You charm everyone you meet, but you choose to be charmed by me. You see past the things I’ve done… You pay attention to me when I explain why I’ve done them.” Loki swallows, closing his eyes, and you take the opportunity to press a kiss upon each of them. “I love you.” Loki confesses. “I love your smile, I love your empathy, I love your quiet rebellion. I love your confidence, and how it grows when you’re around me. I love you, Y/N. I love you.” Loki’s fingers graze your collarbone, cheeks, jawline. “I love you.”

You catch Loki’s wandering hand and kiss his index, middle, ring, pinkie finger. You feel the callouses on his wrists, toughened skin from being bound so many times. You kiss those scars, halfway believing that if you do so enough, they’ll disappear.

You look back to Loki, and you move closer and closer to him, until he’s taken you into his arms. You tuck your head under his chin, pressing your mouth to any piece of exposed skin you can find.

Loki’s hand rubs up and down your back. It slips under your shirt, and you shiver, but it moves in smooth, safe patterns, so you don’t object to it. Your own hands rest on Loki’s hips, your thumbs pressing in circles through his clothes.

“Y/N?” Loki asks, His voice breaks on your name, and it pains you to here him so unsure about himself.

“Oh, Loki.” You press your forehead against his. “I love you too. Of course I love you too.”
