archieimagines:

Imagine comforting Loki by looking for Frigga’s constellation with him.

warnings: NO INFINITY WAR SPOILERS.

With Thor in Midgard, Loki had settled into being King nicely, though his conscience sometimes weighed on him. He’d never say so, of course, but you could read him easily. You knew him unlike anyone else – of course, because he let you know him.

It may not be the real Loki that he was letting on, but it was close enough.

One night, you found him on a balcony, laying with his arms behind his head. He looked so peaceful under the sad moonlight that you almost hated to disturb him and were about to leave when he moved. An arm shifted from under his head, and he raised two fingers to beckon you towards him, the faraway light to his eyes still intact.

You approached him on light feet, feeling the warm breeze of Asgardian night on your skin as you sat beside him on the balcony. “Are you alright, Loki?”

He hummed an affirmation and placed a hand on your shoulder, wordlessly asking you to lay beside him. You did so, pressed into his side, his arm a pillow for your head. He bent his wrist and let his fingers comb through your hair, clearly at peace. “I was looking for my mother, but I’ve never been very good at this constellation business.”

You narrowed your eyes and searched the skies with him, but his faraway manner told you he wasn’t searching at all, and was much too busy thinking. You didn’t question him, but searched for Frigga.

“There she is,” you called at last, and his eyes snapped to where your finger pointed.

“Ah,” his voice was still thick with thought, “There she is.”
