Sam here honestly. I don’t like the hassle of having to find a nice dress with shoes to match >_< And don’t let anyone tell you can’t wear a tuxedo just because you’re a girl. Wear that damn tuxedo hun! I’m sure you’ll rock it any event! So sorry it took me so long to get to your request.
Shiro:
He honestly won’t care what his S/O wears to a formal event just as long as they are clothed and not showing too much skin
He’d much rather preferred they wear something that’s comfortable to them than something that isn’t
And if that just so happens to be a suit, then by all means, let her wear a suit
Shiro will think his S/O will look cute in anything they wear because to him, his S/O always looks beautiful
The suit won’t stop him from getting him from corsage for his S/O however or if they so prefer, a boutonniere
With the fancy event, his S/O will probably double as his security and head of the ‘Shiro protection squad’
Not that he minds however, he’s glad to have someone who worries about his whereabouts 24/7 because he’s the same way with his S/O

He might question at first why his S/O decided to wear a suit to a formal event instead of a dress
He doesn’t hate the idea of it. Not one bit! He’s just a bit curious about their choice, that’s all
Keith himself doesn’t like to wear a suit so he’ll understand why his S/O didn’t want to wear a dress
He’ll still have a good time with his S/O so why should their fashion choice matter?
He’ll beat up anyone that has the audacity to tell his S/O to not wear a suit to a formal event
Keith loves his S/O’s displace of confidence and their small little rebellion against the status quo
He might want to recreate the look of the Blues Brothers because it’s one of his favorite bands and loved their iconic look
And of course, he’ll be blasting the Blues Brothers 24/7 now after the event and the other paladins can’t get hi to shut up

Oh he will eat this up and love every single minute of it with hundreds and hundreds of selfies
Just like Shiro, he’ll think his S/O looks great in everything they wear with lots of whistle sounds to follow
Know that photo of Will Smith showing off his wife? That’s Lance with his S/O because he loves showing off his S/O
He really doesn’t care what his S/O wears and wants them to always wear what they’re most comfortable in
Plus, he really enjoys wearing matching outfits with his S/O and will never pass down an opportunity to wear matching outfits
He likes to pretend him and his S/O are secret agents while the both of them are dressed in suits
Lance can be serious at time but he’s still a kid at heart so let him pretend to be a secret agent please
He’s really all about breaking the status quo and likes that is S/O has to confidence to wear a suit over a dress
Hunk:
He’s a bit stunned when his S/O decides to wear a suit instead of a dress to a formal event
But it’s the good kind of stunned and really likes his S/O in a suit more than them in a dress
He’ll kind of just shrug it off after getting over the initial shock of seeing them in a suit and just continue to enjoy the formal event
Hunk really doesn’t care about fashion in general and if he could, he’d much rather be in his pjs instead of a classy suit
But when he sees his S/O in a suit, he’ll immediately feel like he has to dress to impress as well
Like Lance, he really enjoys wearing matching outfits with his S/O but would prefer if they had matching pjs
He’ll blush like crazy if his S/O incorporates the color of his lion into their outfit
Hunk loves anything and everything his S/O wears and will compliment nonetheless
Pidge (aged up of course):
I’d like to believe Pidge isn’t much of a big fan of wearing fancy dresses unless she has to
But she’d prefer to wear a suit to formal event because she doesn’t like the feeling of wearing a dress
So she’d be glad if her and her S/O showed up to a party in similar suits, ready for everyone’s reactions
Now, she won’t feel like she sticks out too much because her S/O is also wearing a suit
She’ll use her bayard on anyone who dares to tell her and her S/O that they can’t wear a suit
Pidge and her S/O are they to enjoy the event together as a couple, not to be judged for their fashion choice
Her and her S/O will also probably put on matching sunglasses and just tell others to just deal with the fact they wore suits
At the end of the night, her and her S/O will be more happy with their choice than wearing dresses
