(A/N): I changed the prompt just a bit and I’m sorry, this isn’t my best story.
Pairings: Wanda Maximoff x Reader
Request: Can you write a Wanda x Reader fic where the reader got injected by anesthesia/morphine due to an injury and the reader tells the other avengers his/her feelings for Wanda?
Wanda knew you weren’t ready for this. You had been dreading this day for a month and knew you would do anything to get out of doing what was about to be done. You had begged, reasoned, bargained and argued but not matter what you said or did, she knew it had to be done. However, that still didn’t stop your oncoming worries.
“Wanda, I don’t want to do this. Can’t we just go back to the compound or something, bake cookies? Anything but this.” You beg pitifully as your fingers fidget in your lab and you bite your lip nervously, pulling up to the place you’re supposed to be.
Wanda turns to you with a comforting smile. “(Y/N), you can’t avoid this forever. It’ll be okay.” The brunette comforts gently and you emit a quiet groan, pouting slightly as you gnaw on you lip.
“But…” Wanda shakes her head before turning to you as much as she can, grabbing your hand in a comforting manner and the gesture has your nerves going crazy.
“Everything will be fine. You have nothing to be scared about.” Wanda assures but you don’t respond, foot bouncing quickly against the car floor, still not looking convinced.
“Can’t you stay?” You ask quietly, and Wanda smiles sadly.
“I promised Steve I would help him with training later. I wish I could though.” The brunette explains causing you to pout more. “But Nat is going to pick you up and I’ll be there when you get back to the compound.”
You make a sound almost equivalent to a whine as you clench your fists in attempt to relieve the stress you were feeling, and you give a small nod. “Promise?” You question, and she gives you a broad smile which causes several butterflies to flutter within.
“I’d never lie to you.” Wanda mentions, hand still lingering on top of yours, giving it a small squeeze. “I promise.”
You take a deep breath, nodding. “Okay.”
Wanda smiles and you can’t help but match it yourself. “Okay, I’ll walk you inside.” The brunette voices, smile still in place.
You’re still nervous but with Wanda’s little pep talk, you have a bit more courage as you walk in to get your wisdom teeth taken out.

“Clint, I swear to god, if you don’t get that camera out of my face I’m going to kill you.” Natasha growls as she has one of your arms around her shoulder, helping you to the car, as you slump lazily on her.
Clint merely snickers as he shakes his head. “No way! This will be comedy gold and you can’t deny it.” The archer explains with a wide smile.
Natasha rolls her eyes before getting you to the car, setting you inside and buckling you in. Clint happily hops in next to you, camera already filming and ready to ask you questions. You look half there as you stare tiredly in front of you, gauze squished inside the back of your mouth.
“Naattt… my face is so puffy. Can I take these out?” You ask, voice muffled by the gauze as you begin to fiddle with the bloody material.
“No, (Y/N), you got to keep those in your mouth.” Natasha answers as she begins to drive back to the compound.
“Oh…” You mutter but still end pulling one of them out, staring at it with confusion.
“(Y/N)! What did I just say?” Natasha snaps as she looks back, giving you a small glare, and you quickly shove it back it.
“I didn’t do anything!” You counter and Natasha can’t help the small smile tugging at her lips.
Clint snickers once again, zooming in on your face with the camera. “Hey, (Y/N), who’s your favorite Avenger?”
You pull your head up from where it’s resting on one of the head rests, tilting your head in thought. “Umm… Wanda. Wanda is my favorite.” You answer almost instantly, and Clint’s mouth drops in offense.
“It’s not me?!” Clint questions exasperatedly and your face scrunches up before you shake your head.
“No! You’re always pulling pranks on me and always eating my food or falling from the vents like an idiot.” You slur out with annoyance, pointing an accusing finger at the blonde and this seems to spark something in you. “A-And Stark is suuuppperrr annoying. He’s always playing his stupid rock music and he thinks he’s so smart. I wish he’d just shut up sometimes and-and Bucky is always Mr. Grumpy Pants and… why don’t we play the Star-Spangled Banner when Steve walks in since he’s like… freedom or something? Thor eats all my pop tarts and breaks everything with his worthy paper weight, Banner turns into a green nerd and Nat just scares me with her majestic thunder thighs.”
At this point, both Clint and Natasha are laughing hysterically at your explanation of everyone. Clint is nearly crying from laughing so hard, trying hard to keep the camera still and Natasha is trying to keep her eyes on the road. “And what about Wanda?” Natasha asks through a laugh since Clint is unable to.
Your face seems to soften as you momentarily get lost in thought before you answer. “Wanda is perfect, duh.” You say like it’s obvious and now Clint’s curiosity has the best of him.
“Do you like Wanda, (Y/N)?” He asks, and you violently shake your head, looking at him exasperated.
“No, you idiot, I love her. Why would you even ask that?” You confess like it’s obvious and Clint can’t help but smile.
“You love her more than a friend?” Clint asks again to confirm, and you tilt your head to the side, rolling your eyes.
“Uh, yeah. Obviously. I would be stupid not to… then I’d be like you.” You comment bluntly.
Clint’s mouth now drops, real offense taking over. “Hey!” He screams, and Natasha is laughing so hard, tears are forming in her eyes as he quickly shuts off the camera, crossing his arms.
“Oh man, I can’t wait to show this to the others.” Natasha nearly sing songs as she wipes a tear from her face.
“I feel so attacked right now.” Clint grumbles and Natasha continues to laugh as you giggle as well.

When they finally get to the compound, Natasha and Clint help you to Wanda’s room, who is waiting expectantly. Other than some goofy comments, you pretty much pass our right when you hit the bed and she makes sure you’re covered in blankets and as comfortable as can be. She does admit you do look quite adorable all hyped up on medication.
“Here’s (Y/N)’s pain medication and gauze. The morphine should wear off by the time they wake up.” Natasha explains as she hands Wanda the little orange bottle with your name on it and a packet of gauze.
“Thank you so much for picking them up, Nat. (Y/N) wasn’t too much of a hassle, were they?” Wanda asks as she sets the items down on the bedside table.
Natasha chuckles to herself, smirk inching up the side of her face. “Not at all, a bit loopy but that’s about it.” The redhead answers. “Anyways, I’ll leave you to it. If you need anything just call.”
Wanda nods thankfully and soon it’s just you and her. She smiles subconsciously, staring at your sleeping, drooling form before grabbing a book and settling in next to you. She brushes a stray hair from your peaceful face, letting her fingers gently brush against your face when her phone suddenly beeps.
She pulls out her phone before observing a message from Natasha. She raises an eyebrow curiously before opening the message, seeing a winky face and heart with a video of you after the surgery and she immediately taps on it making it start. She begins watching it and can’t help but laugh at your drugged form pointing out all the Avengers as Natasha and Clint laugh in the background.
However, as she reaches the end of the video, she watches you confess your feelings for her to Clint. It was a pretty dorky confession and she laughs at you insulting Clint, but she can’t deny the beating of her heart against her ribcage of what you said about her. She hops you truly meant what you said because she secretly felt the same way.

You slowly wake up with an awful pain inside your mouth and your face immediately scrunches up in discomfort. You open your eyes, observing you’re in Wanda’s room before slowly sitting up, bringing your hands up to the sides of your mouth. You can feel the swelling and you finally recall getting your wisdom teeth take out.
You groan at the pain before grabbing the bloody gauze from your mouth and throwing them in the trashcan. At that moment, you hear the door open and you turn to see Wanda walking in with some water and ice cream. She instantly lights up, bright smile overtaking her face at seeing you awake.
“(Y/N), you’re awake! How do you feel?” Wanda asks as she sets down her items and you lightly rub the side of your mouth, frowning.
“I’m… really groggy and my mouth hurts like hell.” You mumble hoarsely.
Wanda nods as she hands you the glass of water and some pills. “I bet. Here’s something for the pain.” The brunette voices and you happily take the water and medication, downing it quickly. “I also brought your favorite ice cream and have stuff to make smoothies later while we watch movies!”
You smile as much as your face allows you before accepting the ice cream she holds out for you. “You’re the best.” You gush, and she smiles herself.
There’s a brief comfortable silence in the air as Wanda again settles down next to you with her own ice cream before turning to you with curious eyes. “Did you mean it?” She suddenly pipes up and you cock an eyebrow, giving her your full attention.
“Mean what?” You ask confused, and you watch as she grabs her phone and pulls up a video before pressing play.
Your face pales as you watch the video of yourself being absolutely blunt and weird before it cuts to you admitting you loved Wanda to Clint. The five video ends and you stare wide-eyed at the screen, internally wishing and hoping you hadn’t said that out loud. Stupid morphine crap.
Your eyes quickly avert to Wanda’s waiting green ones as she smiles softly and it has you melting. “Did you mean it? Do you love me?” She asks, repeating her question in a quiet voice and you gulp subconsciously as she slowly inches closer to you.
You don’t answer right away, hesitating whether or not to be honest but with her so close, you simply let the answer roll of your tongue. “I do love you.” You answer, almost in a whisper and Wanda tilts her head to the side like a puppy, smile grazing her lips.
“More than a friend?” The brunette adds and she’s now only a few inches away and you don’t notice you’re holding your breath.
“Yes.” You reply, and the biggest smile stretches from ear to ear on Wanda’s face causing you to finally breathe again.
“Good.” Wanda states as she leans forward, pressing a gentle kiss to your lips while wrapping her arms loosely around your neck and you’re completely melting at the feeling. She pulls back, smile still on her face as she leans her forehead against yours. “Because I love you too.”
You smile despite it hurting your mouth, but you can’t find yourself to care as you stare into those green orbs you’ve always found yourself getting lost in and you chuckle lightly. “You know, I imagined kissing you in a more romantic setting than this… without my face looking like a fat marshmallow.” You confess which has Wanda chuckling with you.
The noise has your insides turning to mush and she shakes her head, staring at you lovingly. “I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love your marshmallow face.”
“Do you mean it?” You challenge with a smile as you brush a piece of hair from her face, letting your hand settle softly on her cheek and you don’t think her smile could get any bigger.
