It seemed like the whole of Brooklyn was out tonight though you understood why most of the men were getting shipped off to war tomorrow and the ones who weren’t would be spending all their time in the factories so with the Exibition of future Technologies on most people decided to go out and celebrate like it was their last night of living and for some it might.
Most of the Women were accompanied by their boyfriends or dates for the evening, but you came alone, you could never find someone that was interesting enough for you, most of the men round here were too busy thinking about war and only getting up girls skirts where you wanted some that could actually hold a conversation without their hands wandering.
You stood in the crowd watching as Howard Stark Made his appearance people shoving you forwards causing you to bump into a short Blonde man, “I’m so sorry, everyone’s so excited to see the stage I guess they didn’t notice me.”
“Well How could someone not notice a beautiful dame like you, I mean lady not dame you are beautiful though.” The blonde looks around nervously tearing at the small brown bag in his hand “Hey, are they from Simon’s Sweet shop on the corner of 4th street they do the best Bon Bon’s”
He immediately looks up at you “Yeah, they do here would you like some I bought enough for two, but it seems like it’s only me having them” you glance over his shoulder, noticing a tall man in uniform with two girls hanging off him “Yeah I would love some I’m Y/N and you are..”
aaaaaaand here comes my hypeman self because this deserves all the goddamed yes’es in the entire world! This scene where the girl rejects Steve literally hurts me in places I do not even know exist each and every damned time! So to have a fic where I’m (yes I’m the reader, duh) telling him I’d love some of that candy is bringing tears to my eyes okay. Pre-serum Steve deserves all the loving! We love one Steve Rogers and he has been amazing since the day he was born 1918, July 4th! All of the freaking feels 😍😩 This all lives up to the title cause it is sure as hell sweet as candy!
