Pairing: Isaac x Male Reader, hints of Stiles/Derek

POV: Scott

Musical Inspiration: “Hold Each Other” – A Great Big World
(ft. FUTURISTIC)

Your brother Scott doesn’t really think anything of how close
you and Isaac are. He and Stiles are close. Friends are allowed to be close.
Especially when they live under the same roof.

He realizes quite suddenly just how oblivious he’s been when
he comes home one day to you and Isaac making dinner together. At first he just
greets the two of you as he passes by on his way to his room. He’s got a lot of
homework and he’s still trying to stay on the “Be a better
alpha/student/son/brother” kick he’s been on. It’s only when he stops for a
break, coming back towards the kitchen to get himself a soda that he hears his
name and stops to listen.

“…don’t feel right keeping this from Scott,” Isaac’s voice
carries to his enhanced ears.

“I know. Me neither,” you answer hesitantly. “But I don’t
know how he’d react if he found out and I don’t want anything to come in the
way of this.”

“You really think he’d be bothered?” Isaac asks skeptically.
“Stiles is hot for Derek and Scott doesn’t care.”

“Yeah, well, Stiles isn’t Scott’s brother. And last I
checked, Derek wasn’t hitting that.” Your phrasing makes Scott wince. He may be
realizing that you and Isaac are more than just friends and he’s pretty sure he
can deal with that if he has to, but he doesn’t need that mental image.

“Why are you checking on who Derek’s hitting?” The question
is worded ridiculously and it’s obvious that it’s playful jealousy coloring
Isaac’s tone as both of you laugh. The sound makes Scott grin dopily because
even if he’s hurt that you’ve been keeping this secret from him, it’s obvious
that you and Isaac have a pretty special relationship if you can play like
this.

“Because I’m hot for Stiles, didn’t you know?”

“Better not be,” Isaac growls lightly.

“No,” You agree immediately. “Somehow, I can’t see anyone
else but you.”

The grin falls off Scott’s face rather quickly when he hears
the wet smack of lips meeting.

“Don’t mind me,” Scott says bursting into the kitchen and
heading to the fridge, nerves calming when he can literally hear both of you freeze where you stand.
He grabs his soda and turns to see you still pressed against Isaac’s body, the
blonde boy’s arms still wrapped around your waist. “No, really,” He says
letting his hurt at being kept out of the loop shine through his tone. “Pretend
I’m not here. Doesn’t seem like it’s been too hard to do up ‘til now.”

“Scott,” You say plaintively, asking for something he’s not
ready to give.

“It’s fine,” he says with a shake of his head, takes his
soda, and storms back to his room.

Scott looks up from his homework at the knock on his door.
He sighs, runs a hand through his hair.

“Come in,” he calls, all the fight going out of him when he
sees you meekly stick your head in the door.

“Hi,” you say, stepping the rest of the way into the room
when Scott turns his whole body towards you so that you know you have his full
attention.

“Hey,” he answers sullenly.

“Look,” you sit on the edge of Scott’s bed, hands on your
knees, ready to pull yourself back up if he decides he doesn’t want you in his
room after all. “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about me and Isaac.”

“Did you seriously think I’d have a problem with it?” Scott
asks, hating how whiny he sounds but unable to help it. “You’re my brother.”

You shrug. “I kind of thought you’d be okay about me. I
mean, Stiles is bisexual and that doesn’t bother you so me being with a guy
doesn’t seem like it’d be a big deal either. It’s just… it’s Isaac. He lives here and we’re alone
together a lot so I wasn’t sure how you’d feel about it going on where you
could see it all the time. Plus, for a while there, I thought you might like him.”

Scott chokes on the sip of soda he’d just taken. “What? W- Why?” He sputters.

You shrug again and Scott can see the laughter you’re trying
to hold back at his reaction. “The way you acted when he first moved in. You
had a tendency to hover, like you wanted to make sure he was okay. I realize
now that it was just concern because you’re you
and that’s what you do but… I thought for sure the two of you were gonna-“

“Stop. No. Just stop that train of thought right there,”
Scott orders throwing up his hands as though trying to physically block out the
mental pictures.

You smirk. “Besides, have you seen Isaac?”

“Oh my god.” Scott closes his eyes. “I’m moving in with
Stiles.”

Your laughter is nice after all the tension that’s been
smothering the two of you and Scott can’t help but smile back.

“You know, you don’t have to keep secrets from me,” Scott
says finally. “I may not always like what you tell me, but I’ll always have you back where it counts.”

“Yeah,” you agree with a grin. “I’m getting that.”

“You know this means I’m giving Isaac the ‘dad’ speech,
right?” It’s Scott’s turn to smirk.

“He can’t get me pregnant, Scott,” you deadpan.

“Not-  Oh my goodness,”
Scott rubs at his eyes. “Not that ‘dad’
speech.”

“Ohhhhh. You mean the hurt-him-and-I-have-some-wolfsbane-bullets-with-your-name-on-them
speech.”

“Yep, that one,” Scott nods.

You grin. “Consider it given. He’s probably listening from
the living room.”

Scott tilts his head, clearly hearing Isaac’s “I’ll take
care of him, Scott. I swear on my life” from the other room.

“Ruin all my fun, why don’t you?”

“It’ll be okay,” You promise, rising to squeeze Scott’s
shoulder before you leave him alone in his room. “You’re the best!”

Scott shakes his head and tries to get back to his homework.
Five minutes later he gives up with a whine when he can’t stop hearing you and
Isaac making out in the living room.

“I take it all back!” He yells. “It’s not fine! I’m not cool
with this!”

“Come on,” he hears you mumble quietly to Isaac as both of
you laugh at him, followed by the soft click of the front door closing behind
you.

He goes to his window, seeing you and Isaac heading off to
somewhere you won’t disturb him, hand in hand.

His lips twitch into a smile of their own volition. Isaac
obviously makes you happy, and that will always be okay in Scott’s book.
