I’m not quite sure if you wanted a written out scenario or headcanons, so I’m doing headcanons for now but I… really like this prompt so I might end up making it into a fic anyways later on lol
- He knew that he was going to see you again
- There really was no way around it
- It wasn’t that he didn’t want to see you again, he just… didn’t know what to say to you
- It had been so long since he had seen you, and while his feelings for you hadn’t changed, he just had no idea how he was going to handle this
- Maybe if he was lucky, everything would happen so fast there wouldn’t be time to make a big deal of meeting again
- That wasn’t the case at all though
- Next thing he knew, the two of you were standing off on your own while the rest of the team discussed how to deal with Lotor
- Neither of you had actually verbalized that you needed to talk, but you both sort of just… knew
- It was tense and weird and even though you each had so much to say you just… weren’t sure how to go about it
- “So it’s been… two years for you, huh?”
- “Y-yeah. Time distortions and all that… To be honest I’m not even sure how it worked exactly.”
- It’s pretty painful
- The two of you don’t get all that far into the conversation though, before you’re joined by someone
- “Keith? Is this your partner?”
- Neither of you had noticed Krolia walking up to the two of you, and you’re pretty sure you nearly had a heart attack
- In the distance you’re pretty sure you can hear Lance snickering
- Krolia is an overwhelming presence, but she’s… a lot nicer than you would have guessed
- She looks at you with a warmth that you hadn’t expected
- “I’ve been looking forward to meeting you, he’s told me how found of you he is.”
- “Mom oh my god no—“
- As embarrassed as Keith is, it made you feel a lot better that he apparently had been talking about you enough for his mother to know who you were
- Keith finally gets her to take her leave while you’re lost in your own thoughts, and you’re brought back to reality by him grabbing your hand
- Things were going to be okay, he promised
