- you didn’t think much of Loki bumping into the table when he came down for breakfast
- nor did you think much of how long he stood staring into the cupboard to find his ‘World’s Okayest God of Mischief’ mug
- however, when you turned to see that he was pouring orange juice into his bowl of cereal, instead of milk, your curiosity was… piqued, to say the least
“Trying a new take on cereal, are we?” “…what?” “Your cereal… and the… orange juice you’re pouring into it…?”
- and he laughs a little awkwardly, looking at the carton in his hands
“Guess I grabbed the wrong one…”
- and he just kinda awkwardly pauses
- and just stands there, staring at the fridge
“Is…everything okay, Loki? You’re acting a little off.”
- and he turns to look at you
- and he’s got this embarrassed, almost apologetic look on his face
“I can’t see what the cartons say.” “I… what?” “The cartons. I can’t read them. My vision’s messed up.” “Do Gods get vision problems? Did you hit your head during the last mission? Should we go to a doctor?”
- and he laughs softly
- and shakes his head
“No, no. I’ve always had bad vision, I just… use my magic to… not have bad vision. Usually. I’m not sure what’s wrong.” “Wait… you can do that?”
- and he opens his mouth to answer, but is interrupted by a quiet little
“Brother… why didn’t you say something?”
- and you turn around to see Thor standing in the doorway, looking both shocked and a little hurt
- Loki has the decency to look apologetic
“It didn’t seem important at the time.”
- you insist on taking Loki to the optometrist though
“Just in case your magic messes up again sometime.” “You want me to wear glasses? They look to be a pain to deal with.”
- you decide not to tell him about contact lenses
- and he is an absolute pain to deal with at the eye doctor’s
- refuses to stay still and cooperate
- but once he’s finally done and you get him to start trying on different pairs of glasses
- you become an immediate Fashion Consultant
- you insist he really looks okay in any of them
- and when he takes to wearing them around the compound some mornings
- you make sure no one is
toomean to him about them
