The reader unexpectedly finds a 6 inches tall Loki in his room. Wonder which spell he estimated this time.

platoniclokiimagines:

  • Loki was always doing something
  • whether it be causing mischief or working on his craft
  • he was never not up to something
  • earth didn’t have much by the way of magical literature
  • but once Stephen Strange had joined the team
  • and warmed up to Loki a bit
  • he was willing to share some of the magical texts with him

“For purely informational purposes, right, Loki.” “Oh, yes, of course.”

  • not that anyone believed that
  • but he seemed to keep whatever spells he was working on mostly to himself
  • and that was good enough for the team
  • most of the content was stuff he already knew
  • or stuff he proclaimed “primitive” by Asgardian standards
  • but nevertheless, there were occasional spells and tricks that even the god of mischief had yet heard of
  • and these he liked to practice often, in an attempt to hone his skills and add the magic to his repertoire
  • it was a night he had been practicing one of these spells that you walked into his room
  • intending to ask what he wanted for dinner
  • but instead stopping dead in your tracks
  • you were almost certain Loki was, in fact, not supposed to be sitting on his desk, a mere six inches tall
  • he wouldn’t look so pissed about it, if he was
  • the sight would be endearing
  • a tiny little Loki, sitting cross-legged on the counter with his arms crossed angrily
  • if he weren’t griping about whatever had gone wrong, with a fair amount of cursing thrown in

“Uh… Loki?”

  • you gingerly padded across the room to kneel by the desk
  • trying your best not to laugh
  • it honestly was quite funny, seeing the man be reduced from six feet tall to six inches tall
  • and you knew if he saw you laughing
  • he would be even grumpier
  • Loki did not like to admit his shortcomings, particularly when it come to magic
  • you were quiet for a few moments, a little fearful that if you opened your mouth to speak, you’d end up laughing
  • and Loki’s suspicious glare was not helping at all

“Do, uh… Do you want to talk about it?”

  • tiny Loki rolled his tiny little eyes and stood up, beginning to pace

“It was supposed to shrink the book, so it can easily be concealed on someone’s person.”

  • you nodded slowly, considering that

“And… what went wrong?” “If I knew that do you think I’d be fifteen centimeters tall?” “…do you want me to go get Stephen?” “Absolutely not, I got myself into this mess and I’ll get myself out of it.”

  • as much as you loved him, you didn’t exactly trust him not to turn himself even smaller, or into something that would be unfixable

“Yeah, uh… We’re going to see Stephen.”

  • and before he could protest, you scooped him up in one hand and deposited him on your shoulder
  • you regretted it immediately as he pulled on your hair, whether it was to keep himself steady or for payback for picking him up, you weren’t sure

“You put me back down right this instant. Y/N, put me down. Now!” “Nope. We’re fixing this. Do not hand me over to that second-rate, party trick magician.”

  • as it turned out, he had pronounced one of the words wrong
  • which Stephen was absolutely thrilled to point out
  • luckily, he knew how to fix it
  • and Loki was back to his regular size in no time
