Slightest – Loki Laufeyson

  • I was wondering if you could do a Loki x Reader au where basically the reader is arranged to marry Thor but she’s actually in love with and dating Loki, which both Loki and Thor make incredibly clear but their protests go unheard and a date is set for the wedding. Eventually Loki and the Reader decide to just leave Asgard and explore the world however they please, with just each other and they look out upon the universe just completely content with each other’s company.

“Are we really going to do this?”

Loki paused, his back turned to you. Without turning to face you, Loki looked out before him. “Do you not want to?

The underlining meaning of his words was not unheard. Sighing, you stepped forward, wrapping your arms around Loki’s waist as you let your head fall against his back. “I want to,” you whispered, without any hesitation or unsurety in your tone. “I only meant, are you sure?”

Loki turned then, spinning in your arms until he faced you. Glancing down, he brushed back a strand of lose hair behind your ear, displaying the gentleness of his personality that he only ever did around you. You leaned into his touch, letting out a heavy breath. “Why would I not?”

You bit your lip; “I am no one, Loki. Not in Asgard. Merely just a civilian, that somehow managed to find herself tied to an arranged marriage with the king’s son and in love with the other. You are royalty here, Loki. Are you willing to throw all that away… just for me?”

Loki’s hand slowly slid up your body, from your waist until they cupped your cheeks. “For you?” He questioned, causing your eyes to fall on his own. “Yes.”

You smiled, lightly and faintly, at that. Though you had no doubt in your mind that this was what you were meant to do, you couldn’t help but feel your heart race slightly in fear. There was the possibility of being caught, of all this planning to go to waste and you’d be forced to marry a man you did not love. But, you’d do it anyway – because, if there was even a chance, the slightest chance, that you could just be happy with Loki, then you were willing to take it.

A knock on the door pulled you from your thoughts, and you turned to see Thor standing there. “Now,” he said, already knowing you both knew what he meant.

You nodded, stepping back from Loki as you took his hand. He carried everything you needed, and with a light squeeze of your hand, the both of you begun making your way through Asgard. Thor helped you along the way, leading you along the path he’d cleared for the both of you until you made it to Heimdall. Who stood there, ready.

“I cannot thank you both enough,” you whispered to both Thor and Heimdall. “He won’t say it, but Loki is also very thankful.”

“I do not take any joy in my brother’s suffering,” Thor spoke, eyeing Loki carefully. A conversation, one you could not understand, seemingly passed between the two of you before Thor looked down at you. “Or yours. I’m only sorry that it is my fault you’re both forced to flee.”

“Odin’s fault.” Loki corrected, eyes narrowing slightly. You tightened the grip on his hand.

“It does not matter,” you shook your head. Stepping forward, you smiled at Thor. “Thank you.”

He pressed a gentle kiss against your forehead, before both you and Loki stepped towards Heimdall. He sent the both of you a short nod, a smile your way before he raised his sword. You glanced at Thor, smiling before meeting Loki’s eyes, who was facing his brother.

“I appreciate this, Thor.” Loki spoke.

Thor nodded, grinning. “I know.” Then, he paused. “Maybe i’ll see the two of you one day.”

Loki glanced over at you, and you stared up into his eyes, smiling brightly. “Maybe.”
