Prompt:
“Hey!
“What?”
“I stole that first!

It was 2AM in the Avengers tower, all lights were off and everyone was asleep. Well, everyone apart from you.
You had been laid in bed awake for at least three hours, waiting for the early hours of the morning to creep up on you. It had been exhausting laying in bed with nothing to do but scroll through Facebook and Instagram.
You threw your legs over the side of the bed, stretching your limbs quickly before standing up. You pulled your sweats and a baggy jumper over your body, tying your hair into a messy bun.
You left your room quietly, being extra careful to not make any noise whilst closing the door, and made your way to the kitchen.
Now, you knew you shouldn’t be up at this time, and you knew what you were about to do was wrong, but Tony’s expensive chocolate just looked too good. You’d had your eyes on it for days now, the red packaging taunting you each time you opened the cupboard, so tonight you decided to make a move for it. Of course, you knew Tony would be angry with you for a couple of hours, but he’d get over it eventually.
As you walked towards the kitchen, your eyes glanced out of the window of the lounge. You admired the tall buildings and the sparkling lights of the city for a few seconds. You always knew you’d end up in New York stealing a billionaire’s chocolate.
You smiled to yourself at your own thoughts and went into the kitchen, heading towards a particular cupboard where you knew you’d find the treasure. You stood on your tiptoes, reaching your hand up and feeling around at the back of the cupboard.
Eventually your hand grasped the bar and you grinned to yourself, pulling it out of the cupboard. You gave a sigh of relief, happy that no one else had stolen your idea of sneaking to the kitchen at 2AM to steal the chocolate.
You opened it quickly, admiring it for a few seconds. You decided you’d only have three pieces, and spare the rest for Tony, because you were just that much of a nice person.
You were just about to break three pieces of the chocolate from the bar, when you felt a gust of wind move past you. The sudden occurrence had shocked, and you weren’t too sure what had happened, until you looked down at your hands to find the chocolate had gone.
You looked to the left and to the right, but it wasn’t there. You knew exactly what had happened when you looked towards the lounge.
There was Pietro Maximoff, sat on the couch, staring at you as he held the bar in his hands.
Your jaw dropped, “Hey!”
He raised his eyebrows, “What?”
“I stole that first!”
He smirked and shrugged, “And I stole it second.”
You stormed towards him, “Not cool, Pietro. Give it back.”
Pietro and Wanda Maximoff had only been living in the tower for two months, but they had already integrated themselves with the rest of the team nicely, and now felt more at home than ever. You couldn’t lie to yourself, Pietro was attractive. You liked his face, his voice, his personality. You just didn’t like his speed. He was always moving too fast for your liking, it was useful sometimes, though.
Pietro shook his head, “It’s not yours.”
You set your jaw, “It is! Give it back!” You leaned over him, trying to snatch it out of your hand, but by the time you got near it, he had already moved. He was now positioned next to the window overlooking the city.
He shook his head, “It’s Tony’s.”
You shrugged, “Yeah, well it was gonna be mine. You ruined it.”
He let out a chuckle, “I apologise. Here have it back.”
Your eyes lit up, “Really?”
“No.”
You gave him a dirty look, “I swear, I hate you sometimes.” You walked over to the window and stood next to him, “What are you doing up so late?”
He looked down at you, “I could ask you the same thing.”
You shrugged, “I wanted chocolate. I’m not that deep, I promise.
He smiled at you, then sighed a little. “I just had a nightmare. About Sokovia. The day I was shot. You woke me up when you left your room, thankfully.”
You bit your lip, “I’m sorry.” You took a deep breath, “Well. At least you’re still here. Everyone in the tower loves you, and it’s nice to have you around.”
You looked up at him to see he was staring down at you, “I-I’m sorry. I’m not exactly great at making people feel better….”
He shook his head, “No, it’s okay. You’re right. I’m still here, and I’m so glad that I am.”
You nodded, “I…It’s late. We should head back to our rooms.”
He smiled at you a little, and leaned down to kiss your forehead, putting the chocolate bar back in your hands. “Thankyou for helping me.”
With that he turned away from you and walked back to his room, leaving you flustered with a bar of expensive chocolate in your hands.
*extended ending*
Tony stormed from the kitchen into the lounge. Everyone looked at him, fear in their eyes.
He cleared his throat, “Alright. Who stole it?”
You took a shaky breath, praying to god that you wouldn’t turn bright red. You looked down at your feet, avoiding eye contact with him.
He narrowed his eyes at you, “Y/N….”
You shook your head, “I didn’t mean to I swear-”
However, your apology was interrupted by a certain someone. “It was me, Tony.”
Tony just rolled his eyes, “Just….” he let out a sigh, “Whoever it was owes me one.”
