To Peter, sleeping beside the person he loves is the most peaceful and intimate thing in the world.
He loves the few minutes where you’re both half-asleep and just staring at each other, heads on the same pillow and breathing in sync. He’ll rest a hand on your cheek and rub circles there with his thumb, smiling softly as your eyelids grow heavy.
When Peter has had a hard day, he loves to lie with his arms around your waist and his head on your belly. The rhythmic movement of your breathing and your fingers combing through his hair lulls him to sleep and helps him forget his bad day, every time.
If you fall asleep in class, Peter will make sure his notes are absolutely word perfect so he can give you them that night. He’ll rub your back (you sit next to each other in all your classes) and try to answer all the teacher’s questions so that you don’t get caught out for sleeping.
Peter loves when you sleep on top of him. You nestle your face into the crook of his neck, hug his torso, and throw one of your legs over his, as he massages your back. He feels so safe and loved when you nuzzle your face towards him and he can rest his cheek on top of your head, the soft sounds of your snores reassuring him that you’re there.
Once, the two of you tried to do an all-nighter to watch all the Harry Potter movies. After four movies, Peter was noticeably swaying as he struggled to stay awake. You just smiled, and pulled him into your arms so that he could lie down and sleep. It’s one of his favourite memories.
When Peter is away on a mission, he FaceTimes you at night when you’re going to bed. He tells you all about that day of the mission, and you feel yourself falling even more in love with him as you see how happy and proud he is to be saving the world. He’ll constantly trail off with a “you sound tired, pretty girl, I should let you sleep…” before remembering something else from the mission that he just has to tell you. If you fall asleep on the phone with him, he’ll smile guiltily before whispering a goodnight to you and hanging up, falling asleep to dreams of being home with you.
