You heard the soft beat of Liam’s heart, smiling contentedly. His arms were tucked around your waist tightly, pulling you close, but you didn’t mind. In moments like these, you enjoyed the peace, relishing in the fact that you weren’t out fighting some supernatural creature, risking your life.
You were simply in bed, in the arms of the boy you loved, happy.
You felt Liam press a kiss against the top of your head, eliciting a soft giggle from your lips as your eyes crinkled in delight, Your hand, that had been once tucked around his stomach, pulled back, the tip of your finger softly touching the skin of his bare chest. Slowly, you pulled your finger back, tracing little designs and shapes against his skin.
Liam shuddered in response, and you grinned, leaning back to meet his eyes. “That tickle?” You asked, raising a brow.
Liam hummed in agreement, “but it feels good.”
You laughed, biting your lip as you focused your attention back on your hand, writing your name on top of his stomach. Liam watched with you with a smile, loving how beautiful you looked in that moment. You always did. But now, with no makeup, dressed in only one of his shirts and a pair of underwear, you radiated beauty in his eyes. Liam loved these moments, much like you did. If he could, he’d spend the rest of his life just here, with you.
“Spelling out my name?” Liam asked, raising a brow.
You nodded, biting your lip in focus. “You know it, Dunbar.”
“I love you,” Liam mumbled. Your tracing paused, and you glanced back at him, eyes filling up with warmth. Shifting forward, you let one hand fall on his cheek, pressing a chaste kiss against his lips. “I love you too,” you mumbled, before rolling back. You fell off his chest, head lulling to the side to glance at the clock. You huffed when you realized how late it was.
“Ugh,” you pouted, turning back over to Liam. “We should go to bed soon. I have cheer practice in the morning.”
Liam seemed much more pleased than you were, the arm around your waist curling once again to pull you on top of his chest. Leant on top of him, you rested your head in your hands, staring up at Liam who was grinning. “Can I come?”
You shrugged; “if you want. It’s at seven, so you’ll have to wake your lazy ass up.”
“I’m not lazy.”
“Yes, you are.” You laughed.
Liam only rolled his eyes, “but I can come?”
You nodded, “sure.”
“Yes!” Liam exclaimed, “i’ll get to see you in your work-out gear, doing flips and spins.”
You smacked his chest, rolling your eyes. “You’re a perv.”
“What?” He feigned innocence, “you look hot.”
Suddenly, a thought popped up into your mind. Eyes twinkling with mischief, you set your eyes on Liam’s. “I bet you couldn’t do a kart-wheel even if you tried.”
“I so could!” Liam defended himself, glaring at you half-heartedly. “It can’t be that hard.”
Your lips parted; “really?”
“Yeah,” he shrugged. “All you’re doing is flipping yourself over.”
Scoffing, you sat up, propping yourself up before Liam, and pointed your finger at him. “If it’s so easy, show me how to do it.” Liam paused, eyes narrowing as he regarded you carefully. You shrugged; “what? You’re the only that said it was easy. Well, if it’s so easy, do one.”
“Fine,” Liam huffed, swinging his legs off of his bed. You sat back, falling on your butt and crossing your legs before your leaning back, staring up at Liam. He hesitated, his hands shaking by him as if to prepare himself. With a confident smirk, he glanced back at you. “Stand back dear, I’m going to do something really stupid.”
“I’m sitting,” you reminded. Liam set you a look, and you yielded. “Fine, fine.” Scooting back, you nodded at him. “Go for it.”
One second later, Liam was flipping himself over, hands falling on the floor. For a moment, you thought he’d actually do it. But then, his legs, the moment they’d move to swing over, came crashing forward. Liam smacked into his wall, banging his knees harshly, as he fell face-first into his carpet.
You bit your lip, trying not to laugh. But the moment Liam gathered himself, sitting back up, you couldn’t help yourself.
Liam huffed, “it’s not funny.”
“It really is,” you chuckled.
Liam pouted, crossing his arms over his child. Pressing your lips together, you bit back your grin, shuffling back under the sheets. “Okay, okay, i’m sorry.”
“It hurt,” he whined, rubbing his knee. “A lot.”
“I know. You poor baby,” you teased.
“Whatever.”
A snort left your lips, and Liam huffed. “Stop laughing.”
“Make me,” you challenged, raising a brow.
Liam only sighed, shoulders falling. “You’re mean.”
“You know you love it.” Liam turned his head the other way, still pouting and you stopped, knowing you’d taken it a little too far. With a soft, sympathetic smile, you patted the spot next to you. “Okay, i’m sorry. Liam? Come back to bed.”
He glanced back at you, his eyes falling on the empty spot next to you. Pulling himself up to his feet, Liam crawled over to you, slipping into the bed with flushed cheeks. You shuffled close to him, hugging him. “If it makes you feel any better, I did the same thing.”
After a moment, Liam let a smile crack. “It does. A little.”
