“Take a breath. It’s all okay.” You instructed Jason.
He took a shuddering breath, nearly choking on the air. You had Jason pulled to your chest, rubbing comforting circles on his back.
“It’s alright, Jay. It was only a nightmare, it wasn’t real.” You held back a sob. Seeing Jason like this was incredibly difficult. “You’re okay. You’re alive.”
As Jason’s tears soaked into your shirt, you kissed the top of his head, whispering reassuring things to him. Promising that you will never leave his side, never let his past repeat itself.
