“I’m sorry, what?”

You roll your eyes, crossing your arms over your chest. “I am not going to repeat it – you heard me perfectly well, Jay.” You are definitely not pouting.

Jason furrows his eyebrows as he stares at you. Of course, true to your words, Jason had actually heard it loud and clear the first time you said it but he thinks he needs a little bit more time for his head to actually wrap itself around what you have just dropped on him. “Why?”

You frown at your quasi older brother before dropping your arms to the side. “What do you mean ‘why’? I mean, why I like him? Do I need a reason to like him?” You hadn’t want to tell Jason actually but seeing as he is your older brother slash Guardian, sooner or later, he will probably figure out the truth – especially if things go right for you.

Jason groans and flops down on the sofa, rubbing a hand over his face. He doesn’t quite remember ever being this rebellious – oh, never mind. When he was your age, he was out there stealing tires from cars and the likes, he mused darkly. “You aren’t going to make this any easy are you, Y/N?”

You huff and shake your head. “Damn straight!” Ever since Jason took you in, you doubted you have made his life any easy. You still remember the day when you finally got your period… that memory always bring a smile to yourself: Jason and you had shouted at each other about which pads he was supposed to get you before he begrudgingly bought you all of them because ‘why the fuck are there a lot of brands, Y/N!?’

Jason shakes his head. “I don’t like this at all.” He doesn’t really have a problem with your crush per se but ever since that day he stumbled over the mouse-like you all those years ago, Jason has taken to himself to be your big brother and that included making sure you knew what you were getting into. “Why Drake?”

You only raise one of your eyebrows as you give him a pointed look. “Would you rather I told you I have a crush on Damian?” Jason winces upon hearing the youngest Wayne’s name. “I mean, not that I am saying Damian isn’t adorable but he is and he probably would kill me if he ever hears me calling him adorable but that aside, I like Tim.”

Jason knows of your stubbornness. It’s almost like an exact carbon-copy of his – which is to be expected because ever since he took you in, you looked up to him so there were obviously some habits of his that you had ‘inherited’ for the lack of a better word. “Just stop your train of thoughts and don’t even go to Damian, Y/N.” He shakes his head. Jason likes to think that if it ever actually came down to that, he would dissatisfiedly choose Tim over Damian. “Is there really nothing I can say that will dissuade you?”

You shake your head. “Nope.” You tell him firmly before clearing your throat. “With that being said, I want to tell you that I actually asked Tim out on a date.” Jason almost fell of his chair in surprise and he stares at you with an unreadable expression.

“What – when, when did that happen? Where are you going for your date? You know what, Y/N, don’t answer that. I am going to go and have a few words with Tim!” You splutter at Jason’s declaration and rush after him when Jason all but makes the move to hunt down Tim Drake.
