Warnings: joking about cheating, Damian being nice, and Nightwing being your favorite as opposed to Red Robin

Summary: Your boyfriend, Timothy Drake-Wayne, needed sleep. You had tried many things, but most of them weren’t reliable or even worked. This is one of the trials.

Word Count: 939

Even before you spent most of your nights at the Wayne mansion, you knew Tim didn’t get much sleep. Coffee, or any type of caffeine really, was in his blood. Also, his skills with makeup weren’t bad, but sometimes it was rushed and you could see the bags under his eyes. So, when you stayed over for the first time, you weren’t surprised that Tim was up for most of the night and had many empty and full cups of coffee on his desk when you got to him in the morning.

You have tried multiple times, but no way was a sure guarantee of getting your boyfriend to sleep. However, after days of planning, you think you got a plan.

You were on your laptop, doing some schoolwork, and Tim was on his laptop for superhero amazing reasons. Something of the sort. You blew your hair out of your face and closed your laptop. “Tim?”

Your boyfriend didn’t respond. He just kept click-clacking on the keyboard.

You were tempted to call him ‘Timmy,’ but in your recent tests, he only told you to stop calling you that with a smile before he would continue. It was odd. No matter what context you used that name for, he would just smile and tell you he doesn’t like that name. He wouldn’t respond to the rest of your question or statement.

You sighed and got out of bed and wrapped your arms around his shoulders.

“Hey,” he murmured, not even glancing at you.

You kissed his cheek. “You need to sleep.”

“Ok, in a minute.”

You laughed a little. “Ok, Tim.”

“Yeah.”

You smiled. Might as well have a little fun before you enact your plan. “Damian says he loves you like an older brother.”

“Mhm. Sounds good.”

You laughed. “Nightwing is my favorite superhero.”

“Yep.”

You laughed. “Tim, I’m cheating on you with Stephanie.”

“In a minute.”

You smiled and kissed the top of his head. He worked too hard sometimes. You stood up and stood beside him. The wall of code didn’t make as much sense to you as it did to Tim, but that didn’t matter. You stared at it for a second. Then, when Tim’s hands retreated from his keyboard to read something, you pushed your way in between your boyfriend and his computer. As he stuttered to ask what you were doing, you straddled his lap and stared right down at him. “Sleep,” you insisted.

“I need to work. You know that.”

You pouted. When he just stared at you and waited, you sighed. “Fine, I’m not going to bed until you’re going to bed.” You shifted in his lap and made yourself comfortable. You laid your head on his chest and closed your eyes.

He laughed a little. “You’re gonna be there for a long time, (Y/n).”

You yawned and nodded. “I know.” You snuggled into his shoulder and relaxed into him.

Tim shook his head. He untangled his arm from yours and resumed typing.

The steady tick-tacking of his work matched his heartbeat in a weird way. Hacking and coding and all that stuff came naturally from him, as natural as breathing, you guessed. You smiled and let yourself rest on your boyfriend’s lap. If this went according to plan, he should get to bed as soon as you fell asleep. So, the faster you fell asleep the better.

Tim felt your head almost roll off his shoulder. He was quick to stop tying and adjust his arm so your head was nestled against his neck. You sighed in sleep and held him close. Time blushed a little and smiled at you. You were too beautiful. Even when your hair was a tangled mess over his shoulder, and there was a little drool in the corner of your lips.

He blinked a few times and realized that your position, curled up in his lap and barely hanging onto him, wasn’t that safe or comfortable.

That just wouldn’t do. You needed a good night’s sleep.

So, your boyfriend left his desk and carried you to bed. You wouldn’t let go of him without the cute whine slipping from your lips, so he laid on the bed next to you and pulled the covers to his chin.

He promised he would leave, but you were still clinging to him. You were so beautiful in your sleep. More so then since you were in a comfortable position. He sighed and held you close. Tim just felt so incredibly lucky to have you. He hugged you tightly and reveled in the sound of your heartbeat, soft breathing, and incredible warmth.

Ok, he’d go back to work. Just after cuddling with you.

You woke up when the sun hit your eyes. You blinked away as much sleep as you could and took a second to recall what you needed to do.

Then, when your boyfriend’s arm tightened around your waist, you beamed. You turned in his arms and couldn’t help the overwhelming joy and relief that overcame you when you saw your precious boyfriend asleep. Tim deserved this. He deserved this every night.

You giggled and kissed his nose. Tim scrunched up his face before hugging you closer and smiling again.

You smiled. You could sleep in.

So, you let yourself feel comfortable in his embrace and closed your eyes.

Tim woke up and immediately, the first thing on his mind was you. He laughed at the sight of you in his arms. “Maybe you’re smarter than I am, huh?” He kissed your head and held you close. Those codes could wait. Cuddling with you, that couldn’t.
