Valentines Fever [Tim Drake x Reader]

avengerdragoness:

A/N: Tim! I wanted to make my Valentines Day story a bit more special, so I decided to make it my first Tim x Reader on my blog! I hope it’s enjoyed! Happy Valentines Day lovelies!

Tim’s sleep schedule ends up effecting your Valentines plans.

_______

Valentines
day the most romantic time of the year. Chocolate, flowers, pink and
red everywhere. Couples had reservations at their favorite restaurants
and venues. Singles were waiting for the following day to buy the half
priced chocolate, or at least that’s what you did when you were single.
Hell you still do it, who could beat half priced chocolate?

Though
you were anything but single this Valentines Day. Knowing Tim had made
some sort of expensive reservation and was planning things all
Valentines Eve. He never even came to bed that night, being able to hear
his typing in the other room. Not knowing if it was for the plans he
made or something for Bruce.

You
couldn’t help but worry, constantly nagging him about his lack of sleep
and how he was going to get sick. Always waving you off commenting that
he ‘doesn’t get sick.’ Rolling your eyes every time. This time being no
different.

“Tim
you’re going to get sick if you keep up like this” You comment coming
up behind him. Giving up on sleep for the time being. “[F/n] I promise I
won’t get sick, I’ve got one more thing to do then I’ll come to bed I
promise” He looked over at you.

Wrapping
your arms around his neck and resting your face in the crook of his
neck. “I’ll keep you company” placing soft kisses on his neck and
jawline.

“Keep
me company or distract me?” he chuckled still focused on his laptop
screen. “Bit a both” He could feel your grin against his skin. He loved
having you with him but there wasn’t any need for you to be sleep
deprived, he was used to being on little sleep.

“Hey
sweetheart, please go get some rest. I’ll be in there in a few” He
shifted in order for you to stand back up. Which you did, sighing in
defeat you pecked his cheek, whispering “Okay.”

When
you went to bed, you didn’t feel him next to you until about an hour
later. Turning on your other side you snuggled up next to him as he
wrapped his arms around you. He fell asleep the moment his head hit the
pillow. Causing you to smile softly, brushing his bangs out of his
face.

Your
hand cupped his face as you wiggled up to place a kiss on his forehead.
Whispering  “Goodnight Tim” before you let yourself fall into the
depths of sleep.

The
next morning you woke up before he had. Something quite uncommon.
Taking the chance you quietly slipped out of his arms and tiptoed out of
the room.

Once
out of the room you headed to the kitchen and began to make breakfast.
Falling into a routine of flipping pancakes, turning the bacon, cutting
up fruits, and setting the table. All the while having some homemade
doughnuts baking. You were pretty impressed with your own multitasking
skills.

When
all of the food was finished and the plates made it was noon. So, you
decided to go check up on your caffeine-aholic boyfriend. A cup of his
favorite coffee in your hand as well.

Peering
into the room you saw him sprawled out on the entire bed. Giggling you
entered the room and sat next to him on the bed. You couldn’t remember
the last time he slept this long. “Tim..
Hey babe it’s time to get up.” You spoke softly while shaking his
shoulder. He groaned and stretched before opening his eyes to look at
you. A smile immediately decorated his features upon seeing you. “Happy
Valentines Day” his voice was think and slurred from being asleep.

“Happy
Valentines Day, and here is your first present” You handed him the mug,
causing him to chuckle “How did you know?” he teased.

“I’m just that good” Smirking at him. He smiled but it seemed a bit strained. “Are you okay?” brows furrowing in concern.

“What? Yeah fine, just groggy” he yawned while sitting up.

Pushing
the worry to the back of your mind you took his hand and interlocked
your fingers with his. “I made your favorite breakfast, well I guess
it’s brunch now” you commented looking at your intertwined hands.

“Doughnuts?” He asked smiling.

“Doughnuts, and pancakes, and bacon, and fruit.” You listed the items, your face inching closer and closer to him at each word.

He chuckled before softly pressing his lips to yours, “You’re amazing”

“So is my cooking, so lets eat” you stood up pulling him with you.

After
eating breakfast you both cleaned up together, making it go by quickly.
Both having some work to do, you sat in the living room working and
talking together. Though you noticed Tim was a bit off and unfocused.
You often caught him rubbing his eyes or letting out deep breaths.
Getting up from his laptop and just aimlessly walking around. It was
like he lost all work ethic, which worried you because this was Tim
Drake, workaholic is his middle name.

“Tim,
babe, are you sure you’re feeling alright?” setting the papers you were
looking at aside and walking over to him. His cheeks were rosy and he
just looked drained.

“Yeah,
I’m just uhhh, I’m just going to take a shower. We need to start
getting ready soon anyways.” He muttered before turning on his heels
heading to the bathroom.

‘Okay, something’s up’

You thought watching his retreat. Sighing you went back to your work  waiting to hear the shower turn off.

Tim
felt like shit. His head was pounding, had heat flashes, his throat was
dry, and he felt like he wasn’t going to be able to keep his breakfast
down.

Letting
out a sigh he undressed and stepped into the shower. He had to shake
whatever this was, he wanted to give you the best Valentines Day he
could. But the lightheadedness and nausea was really getting to him.

‘Just hold out tonight and be as miserable as you want tomorrow’

He thought to himself under the shower head.

After
his shower he got out and went to your adjoining bedroom to get
dressed. He was about to  pull on his shirt when he heard light knocking
on the door.

You cracked the door open, “Tim?”

“Yeah”
he called and you opened the door the rest of the way. He stood looking
at you, he had black dress pants on and his button up shirt in his
hands. Biting your bottom lip out of habit. “[F/n]?” he interrupted you
smirking.

“U-Uh,
I just wanted to check on you. That was a long shower” You walked up to
him. Immediately noticing is even more flushed cheeks and a light sheen
of sweat on his forehead. You could tell it wasn’t from his shower from
the way he looked. Lifting your hand you brought it to his forehead.

As
soon as your hand touched the skin you could feel the fever. “Oh my
god! Tim you’re burning up” you stressed, hands moving to feel his
cheeks as well.

“N-No
I’m not, go ahead and shower. We don’t want to miss our reservations, I
promised you an amazing Valentines Day” he pulled your hands from his
face.

“Tim,
we’re not going anywhere. You’re burning up and look very ill, you need
to rest” you told him softly. You knew he planned this forever and
wanted this to be special, but you didn’t want him getting sicker.

“But
[F/n]” he began. “No ‘buts’ I’m not letting you get sicker just because
it’s Valentines Day. You’re health means more to me then some
reservation.” Cupping his face with your hand.

“I’m
going to go cancel our reservations and make you some soup. You’re
going to lay down and rest. Got it?” You ordered whilst grabbing him his
favorite pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt. “Do you have a headache?”

He
nodded, “No computer than either. It’s going to make your head worse.”
You knew that would be a challenge for him but he simply nodded before
beginning to change.

You
did as you said and called the restaurant canceling the reservation.
Then going to the kitchen you began to make some Chicken Soup. A special
recipe Alfred sent you last time you were sick.

Letting it cook you grabbed some aspirin and a glass of water before taking it in to him.

He was curled up under the covers, his chills making him shutter. “Here babe take these” you handed him the pills and water.

He took them without a complaint and looked at you apologetically. “I’m
sorry. I should’ve listened to you and taken better care of myself” he
apologized.

“No
need to be sorry, everyone gets sick. Just rest okay, I’ll go get you
some soup” you ran a hand through his hair, while placing a kiss on his
forehead.

When
you stood up and walked out of the room Tim couldn’t help but think he
definitely had the best Valentine this year and every year to come.
