As in he would literally make a graph, and several mathematical equations.
All of this work would be simply be for selecting the perfect pumpkin.
“Tim, can’t we just pick ones we like and go with it?”
Tim stared at you with disbelief. “Are we going to start dumping random amounts of laundry detergent in the washing machine or buying the first bag of bread we see instead of checking for softness? Once we start with one thing, everything will fall into chaos.”
You shook your head before letting him do his thing.
Eventually when Tim felt prepared enough, you both drove to the pumpkin farm to find some pumpkins.
After an hour with Tim inspecting each pumpkin, you left him to decide by himself while you went to get some hot chocolate.
You went through three cups of hot chocolate before Tim finally found two pumpkins that he believe were appropriate for the both of you.
“Both of these pumpkins’ diameters are propositional to their height and weight, thus they are perfect for our needs.”
“That’s great, honey.” You did your best to hide the sarcasm that wanted to drip into your voice.
When it comes to actually craving the pumpkins, Tim relaxes about it.
You lay down the newspaper, and Tim starts by cutting the pumpkins open.
He does it with such care while maintaining his relaxed state, you become amazed by his skill.
“You’re amazing with a knife, Timmy.”
He gave you a funny look as if you were insane.
You kissed his cheek, because he was so cute before returning to laying down newspapers.
The two of you would sit on opposite sides of the table, keeping your designs a secret from each other.
Tim gets a cute little crease in between his eyes as he works.
It’s so adorable that you stopped your work in order to secretly take a photo of him.
He would find it years later in a photo album, confused to no end at how you took it without him noticing.
The two of you took hours to finish your pumpkins.
For you found it fun to put incredible amount of effort into your pumpkins.
Over the years, you both became very skilled in pumpkin craving.
To the point where everyone in the family would stop by your apartment just to see the years’ creations.
Hours passed until you both felt ready to show each other your pumpkins.
Tim makes you flip a coin to decide who should go first.
“You know, it makes me feel like Two-Face when I do this.”
“That not funny, (Y/N)” However, there was a trace of a smile on his face.
You usually win the toss.
It takes you a second before you get the courage to show him your pumpkin.
Tim is always stunned by your work, which most of the time is imitation of a famous painting.
You always enjoy the challenge of trying to recreate a famous painting through a pumpkin.
His eyes always grow so wide as he takes in your work.
You can see the slight self-consciousness in his eyes, but your smile convinced him to show his pumpkin every time.
Usually Tim does something related to his night work, but this was one time when he did something entirely different.
That year, Tim was especially nervous, shaking like a leaf.
You didn’t know what to expect until he turned it around.
Will you marry me?
Time stopped as you took in the words he craved onto his pumpkin, finding yourself collapsing into your chair in shock.
After a long moment, Tim stepped next to you, watching you worriedly.
“(Y/N), are you going to say anything?”
You tried to speak, but you were too shocked for words.
“(Y/N), will you please say something?”
No words came to your head, so you did the only thing you could think of.
You grabbed the sides of Tim’s face and slammed your lips to his.
He was quite surprised, but pleased by your reaction.
After breaking apart, Tim was still confused.
“So, what’s your answer?”
“You’re so clueless, Tim. It’s yes, it’s always yes.”
He laughed in relief as you both shared another kiss.
When you both finally came up for air, Tim slipped the ring box out of his pocket to take out the ring and slip it onto your waiting finger.
“You’re so adorable, Timmy.”
“Um.” Tim was speechless, not sure if that was a good thing. “You’re beautiful, (Y/N).”
Nevertheless, pumpkin craving was always a special thing for the both of you for many years to come.
