Can you do a James Conrad x reader where she starts stressing out when they’re on skull island but he reassures her that he’ll keep her safe?
I didn’t have an idea originally for your open characters but honestly today has me on edge to no end, I’m stressed and struggling to stay under the same roof with my mom who’s stressed about the new kitchen being fitted wrongly so that makes me stressed and upset- do you think you could do a James Conrad x reader who goes to the island with him as press but she gets stressed out about something and he chills her out? Thank you so much sweetie I’m really sorry it’s a bit of an odd one :’)

You’d been oddly quiet. Completely out of character, that much James knew. As opposed to the first time he’d met you, when you’d been a bubbly, excited person that always seemed to have something to say.
But now, you hung back, further then everyone else. You were constantly wringing your hands against one another, gnawing on your bottom lip. Even from the front of the group, James could tell that every time there was a sound, you’d jump. Your eyes were consistently surveying the area around yourselves, as if afraid that any minute someone or something would jump out and kill you.
James didn’t blame you, though. Even if he’d done explorations like this a million times, none were quite like this specific one. And he couldn’t blame you, a simple journalist, for being afraid.
And, James usually didn’t bother himself with such trivial things. Hell, he knew, for a fact, that everyone beside, behind and in front of him was afraid out of their wits. But something about you being terrified didn’t settle right within James. He’d only known you for a short about of time, having met you when this whole expedition had begun. But you’d captured his attention with your unique personality, and James hated to see that diminished with fright.
So, slowing his step, James moved so he was stood behind you. His sudden movement had caught your attention, and with parted lips, you glanced up at him with confused curiosity. James also wasn’t oblivious to the way you relaxed your shoulders at the sight of himself, as if you were trying to seem less afraid then you actually were.
But, as James stood beside you, determined to comfort you, he realized he’d never really done such a thing and he had no idea how to comfort someone in a situation like this.
“You know,” James started, eyes dancing around the trees that surrounded the both of you. “It’s okay to be afraid.”
Your eyes widened at his words, and your cheeks flushed just a tad bit, signalling that you were slightly embarrassed having been caught. With a frown, you glanced down at your feet, your journal still tightly held between your fingers. You’d refused to let go of the thing since landing.
“All of you seem so calm,” you whispered, voice shaky. “Even Weaver, and… I don’t know… Just feel silly being so afraid.”
“I’m terrified,” James said plainly, causing your eyes to fall on him once again in bafflement. With a shrug, James shifted the gun in his hands slightly. “Truthfully, my heart is still racing, and no matter how hard I try, I can’t get it to calm.”
With a frown, you bit your lip.
“So, you see,” James continued, smiling softly down at you. “It’s okay to be afraid. And I can guarantee that every one of these people before us are afraid too.”
Your eyes instinctively glanced at the group in front of you, eyes sliding from Slivko all the way to Weaver.
“Besides,” James added. He set his hand on your shoulder, pulling you closer. Without a doubt in his mind, James swore; “I won’t let anything happen to you. I promise. Okay?”
After a moment, your mind truly did ease and a small smile fell on your lips as you nodded. “Thank you.”
“Of course.”
