The two of them had been walking down the Citadel, Ignis complaining about training and being unable to strike Gladio when she stopped and asked to give him something for good luck.
“I highly doubt it will help,” he had sighed before stopping as well.
It happened so quickly Ignis barely had time to register what had happened before she smiled and turned, heading in the opposite direction.
Blushed poured into his cheeks – the very same her lips had brushed – as his mind raced, trying to figure out if she had truly kissed his cheek or if he had simply had too much Ebony and was suffering from hallucinations. He slowly turned to see her walking away, his eyes falling indecently before internally correcting himself.
She was just so pretty. Ignis hated himself for thinking such things, as if he could indulge in a relationship with all his duties. He had caught her staring before, and there were times when her hands would linger as she gave him a coffee or textbook, but those had just been coincidental, right?
She had kissed him, though.
On the cheek, but still a kiss nonetheless. Did girls do that with their friends? Ignis wasn’t certain, but certainly –
“Iggy, let’s go!” Gladio called, leaning against the wall and looking bored. The Prince may have enjoyed missing training but the two of them didn’t have the option of slacking off.
Ignis adjusted himself and followed Gladio, avoiding his friend’s eye and willing his normal color to come back before sparring. Ignis wondered how well he’d even do today, all things considered. He was thankful Gladio wasn’t bringing it up.
“It’s all right, Iggy, ” Gladio mumbled, his hand coming up to be placed on his friends shoulder. “Next time, you wont act like a total virgin. I know it.”
Ignis pulled away and huffed. He was embarrassed mostly, and while Gladio didn’t entirely mean what he had said – who was he to talk? He’d never kissed anyone yet – at least Ignis would have some anger to redirect in training.
A half hour and a bloody nose later, Gladio was both proud and regretful of his motivation choices.
