10: “It’s cold don’t leave.”, 17: “I think I might be in love with you.”
The rustling of sheets is what awoke you. You rolled over onto your other side, the faint hints of sunlight shining in. You shivered, even under a mountain of covers. Opening your eyes lead you to see Derek, sitting up in bed, legs dangling off the side.
He was fumbling with something and finally pulled on a shirt over his head. A small frown placed itself on your lips. You reached a hand out from under the covers and pulled on his arm. Pulling him back to you.
“Don’t leave,” You muttered sleeping as he intertwined his figure against yours once more. “It’s cold.”
“How are you cold?” Derek questioned.
“I just am,” You answered back with a small chuckle, burying your head in his chest.
It was days like these you enjoyed more. Pulling Derek back to bed for a few more minutes of sleep. In the comfort of the bed the two of you shared. Away from the world. Moments of pure bliss.
The room settled into silence. Derek watching and waiting for you fall back into a peaceful sleep before he could leave. He watched the rays of sunlight hit your hair. Highlighting the different colors against your skin. Illuminating your peaceful face as you curled up to him.
It was like watching an angel sleep.
He smiled as he buried himself against you, taking in the pure silence and the bliss that accompanied it.
“Derek,” You called from his side.
“Yeah?” He asked.
“I think I’m in love with you.”You spoke softly against him. A small chuckle left his lips as he replied.
“I think i’m in love with you, too.”
And with that, Derek watched you fall asleep once more.
