You walked down the halls of Xavier’s school, your books tucked into your arms. You could feel the stares from students as you passed them by, their eyes on your combat boots and leather jacket. You knew you intimidated them with your heavy clothes and dark attitude. No one really talked to you besides the odd teacher.

You were drawn fro your thoughts when you heard the shouts of some kids, their voices loud and obnoxious. You frowned when you saw some of the more rude boys surrounding another student, tossing insults back and forth loudly. The student in the middle had dark blue skin, his face worried and his tail whipping back and forth anxiously. You blew out an angry breath, jogging forward, shoving through the boys.

“Hey!” You hissed, knocking a couple of them back. They all immediately stepped back at the sight of you, your eyes narrowed and hands out defensively.

“Leave him alone, you assholes,” you growled. When they didn’t move, you pointed down the hallway, your face twisted in anger.

“Get out of here!” You yelled. They all suddenly slipped and slid on the floor, all scrambling to get away. When they had gotten far enough down the hall, you turned around to the frightened blue mutant, sighing. You took hold of his arm, your expression softening at his panicked expression.

“You okay?” You asked. The blue mutant managed to nod, thanking you in a soft German voice.

“Danke,” he whispered.

“It’s no problem, they’re jerks, they deserve a little frightening. I’d just ignore whatever they said to you,” you said, making sure he was standing steadily on his own two feet.

“I know.” The mutant offered you a small smile, holding out a hand. “I’m Kurt. Kurt Vagner.”

You grinned in return, taking his hand happily. “Y/N. I don’t think I’ve seen you around here before. Are you new?”

“Kind of,” Kurt shrugged, pushing his hair behind his ear. “Have you been here long?”

“Just this year,“ you admitted, twisting your hands together. “But I don’t have many friends.”

“I’d love to be friends vith you!” Kurt exclaimed. You raised your eyebrows.

“Really?”

“Of course! You did just help me,” Kurt said. You sighed, relenting gratefully. It might be nice to have a friend here.

Over the next month, you and Kurt slowly became fast friends. Kurt and you were always seen together roaming the halls or just hanging out and laughing on the lawn. But one day, you noticed someone walking across the bright green grass of Xavier’s that made you sit up. Kurt noticed your gaze focused on something else, turning to see who or what you were staring at. It was a blond kid with huge wings, striding across the lawn with his hands in his pockets and his dark leather jacket fluttering in the breeze.

“Who’s that?” You breathed, quickly glancing away when he looked behind him, almost catching you staring at him.

“Warren Worthington,” Kurt informed you. You bit your lip. “Is he nice?”

“I zhink so,” Kurt said. “I’ve only spoken to him a few times, but my ozher friends seem to like him.”

You didn’t notice when Kurt’s tail suddenly perked up, an idea coming to him. He looked between you and Warren, the similarities between your interests startling. Kurt stood up, wringing his hands.

“I’ll be right back,” he said, bamfing off. You blinked, the blue cloud left over from Kurt’s mutation making you cough. You wondered he went, picking up your homework to do while he was gone.

Kurt waited for Warren to enter the building, coming up behind him.

“Warren!” He called, waving a hand up in the air. Warren turned around, grinning when he saw Kurt.

“Hey, Kurt. What’s up?” He asked.

“Do you know Y/N?” Kurt asked breathlessly.

“I’ve seem them around, why?” Warren frowned.

“You should go talk to zhem, I zhink you’ll like zhem.”

Warren sighed. “I don’t know, Kurt. Not a lot of people like me.”

“Zhey will,” Kurt promised, a wide grin on his face. Warren rubbed his forehead.

 "Okay, if you’re sure.“

Warren headed back outside, Kurt internally celebrating.

You were mid page turn when someone cleared their throat next to you. You looked up, freezing when you saw who it was.

"Hey, just wanted to say hello,” Warren said, his wings fluttering behind him.

“Oh, hi,” you forced out. Warren pointed to your shirt. “You a fan of Metallica?”

You looked down at it. “Yeah, they’re not bad. Though I prefer-”

“Rush.”

You and Warren spoke at the same time, you blushing down at your feet.

“So, what brings you over here?” You asked. Warren shrugged, sitting down beside you, careful to keep his wings out of the way.

“I saw you sitting by yourself, and wanted to greet a fellow music fan,” he said.

You grinned. “Yeah?”

You saw something out of the corner of your eye, turning to see Kurt standing by the school, waving and smiling then bamfing off.

“Oh, Kurt,” you whispered.

“What?”

“N-nothing,” you stammered, looking back at Warren. God, he was cute. You reminded yourself to thank the school Cupid later, laughing along with Warren for the next hour happily.
