You and Kurt had decided to take a walk through New York, arms linked as the two of you looked around. Of course the two of you got some confused stares, as even in New York, it’s pretty unusual to see a blue man with a demon tail walking around.

However, as you watched one such confused citizen pass by, movement by Kurt’s tail caught your eye. You looked. “Uh, Kurt?” you said, stopping which in turn stopped him.

“What?” Kurt asked, looking at you.

“We got a shadow,” you said. You would’ve said ‘tail’, but Kurt already has one of those. You bent over to pick up the kitten that had been playfully batting at Kurt’s tail.

“Aww, it’s cute!” Kurt cooed, petting the kitten’s head. “Think it’s somebody’s?”

“Maybe. We can put up posters, but the little one’s ours if we don’t get any responses.

Kurt laughed. “Okay,” he conceded.

A trip to a pet store later, and you and Kurt brought the little kitten to Kurt’s room in the mansion. Kurt sat on the floor while you opened up the toys you had gotten.

“Here you go,” you said, tossing the fake mice on the floor. The kitten seemed interested in them briefly, but as soon as Kurt flicked his tail, the kitten tried to pounce on it.

“Apparently your tail is the best cat toy,” you commented, amused.

“Apparently. Unfortunately it’s not scratch-proof,” Kurt commented, flicking his tail a few more times, always keeping it out of the kitten’s reach.

“Come here. Let’s not draw blood on your favorite cat toy,” you said, gently picking the kitten up.

“Are you sure you’ll be able to give her up should she have a real owner?” Kurt asked.

“No,” you replied simply. “Especially since I’ve decided on calling her Snowball until I think of something better and less cliché.”

“How about Weiss?” Kurt suggested.

“Oh, I like it. What does it mean? I’m assuming it’s German,” you asked.

Kurt nodded. “It’s German for ‘white’,” he replied.

“Well, that’s even more to-the-point than snowball, but I still like it,” you said. “Weiss the kitten.” You gave her a kiss on the head.
