Kouji Kouda
You weren’t the most talkative person in the world, that was a fact. But the guy who sat next to you in class was even worse. It took you a month to learn that his name was Kouji Kouda and five more to learn that he wasn’t actually mute but just really shy.
And also really cute. Maybe it was is quirk, his soft personality or even that shyness but to you he was the personalisation of cuteness.
Even if he didn’t talk most of the time, when you were alone he was more open. Just a little bit, but to you it was enough, it meant he trusted you. He talked about animals and little things to know about them. Kouda was caring and sweet and you just wanted to protect him from the rest of the world.
It was a shared thought among the 1A, but you probably were the most serious about it.
It didn’t take you too much time to understand you had feelings for him, but you didn’t want to impose yourself. You knew he would accept you even if he didn’t return your feelings, just by kindness. And it wasn’t what you wanted. Being friends was already enough.
One time, as you two had planned to have lunch in the forest near the school, he came late. It wasn’t really in his habits, he was always anxious about bothering people and he would try to do everything to arrange them even if it put him in difficulties.
He was already red, maybe because of the heat or the fact that he had just run.
“Sorry, I didn’t want to make you wait.” He whispered.
You just smiled and told him it was fine. When he sat next to you, you finally noticed he was hiding something behind his back. Seeing you trying to look at the thing in his hand made him blush a little.
And then a whole lot more when he actually showed you. Here, lying in Kouda’s hands was a flower crown. He tried to say something, his voice stuck in his throat and his face becoming more and more red by the seconds. You had to guess what it mean by yourself.
“You made this ?” He nodded. “It’s beautiful.”
Kouda tried to speak again, without success. He sighed.
“Is it for me ?” You asked with hope. And he smiled.
You inclined your head a bit, inviting him to put it on you himself. Which he did while being an absolute blushing mess. You were blushing too.
“Next time, I’ll make you one too ! So we can match.”
The rest of the lunch, date you thought, was spent in a sweet silence and shared with diverse little cute animals.
