a/n: i’ll admit i was reluctant to write for james bc i sort of hate yet like him at the same time but he’s actually rlly fun to write for kshdfjsdhf and hes rlly pretty i hope u don’t mind i did hcs !!
you first meet when u forget your lunch and you have to buy it from the bakery james works at which is right next door
and you honestly weren’t expecting him to be this cute
and he wasn’t expecting you to walk in and be this cute
and u guys just maintain casual conversation I mean, you’re shop neighbours after all
so you just grab something and realize you’re like a a dollar or two off and u insist to pay the full amount and ask if u can just run next door
he just quirks and eyebrow
“didn’t take you as the stealing type” he teases
“not like i was gonna take it with me!” you laugh, leaving quickly and returning just as fast
but tbh u did steal something that day as james watched u leave with a small smile on his face heheh
after that u started to buy lunch from his bakery more often
which led to u guys eating lunch together on your breaks and just chatting
he’d always protest when you’d pay bc honestly he wouldn’t mind giving it to u for free (but you’d refuse)
meeting the rest of the employees (kinkade, rizavi, leifsdottir) and becoming good friends with them too
leaving little gifts like you’d leave flowers in his apron pocket with notes and he’d leave like cookies
your first kiss would taste like cinnamon or something sweet and it would mainly be you both smiling
“you taste like sugar”
“sorry we were trying out a new recipe and we had to taste test it a lot and-”

okay since he works in a bakery he’d smell really good all the time
and whenever u guys would move in together your home would smell like heaven w the flowers and baked goods
