- The kind of man that opens doors for you and pulls your chair out and takes your coat: a classic gentleman
- Regardless of relationship, I should note. It takes a long time for him to fall for you truly, and it takes an even longer time to admit his feelings
- He may need prodding from friends in order to open up enough to admit something so personal to you- or anyone really. It took a long time to go into the details of who is mother really was, and what his father was like before his mother’s death.
- In order to get anything to work you need to earn his emotional trust
- Do not be judgmental. Or not treat him as you would anyone else, with a degree of respect. He can tell if you’re gaping about the whole dhampir thing. Or his appearance
sexy as he is- Show him how to have fun: give him something to smile about! The guy has so little to smile about and he honestly has a huge weakspot for cute, innocent types that love life to the next level. It reminds him of his mom.
- He’s not going to initiate 99.999999% of the time- please keep that in mind. And if he ever does, he’s going to ask your explicit permission
- Like do not expect him to romantically sweep you up in his arms and take you to the bedroom he will literally be like “May I hold you?” “May I carry you?” “May we etc etc etc” and while this is super adorable it can be a little annoying with how formal he is about everything
- You’re gonna have to be the forward one, as a result. Like of course be courteous and don’t just grab his hand and be like “GET IN THE CAR LOSER WE’RE GOING SHOPPING” but don’t be afraid to tell him what you’d like to do for a date or something
- Also just appreciate the little moments when neither of you talk much, and just stay close to one another. He’s not always the most… full of words. But he tries, since he knows it can trouble you if he broods too much.
- Will often need reassurance, and will reassure you about how valuable you are to him in return.
- But his biggest, worst fear (which unfortunately is rather inevitable) is eventually losing you. Not to someone else, but to time and a natural death. It eats at him, with every person he knows, cares for, and loves. It’s an awful thing.
- He likes to pet you, using the back of his hand to brush against your face or the side of your frame
- He’ll want to keep a memento of you on his person at all times: a hair ribbon, a ring, anything that you give him really. No matter what he is wearing he will fit the thing you give him there because he will cherish the ever loving fuck out of it and will murder everything in his path if someone took it
- If we’re talking modern AU, is the person to always carry a picture of you. Everywhere. At all times. On every device, in his wallet, in his pocket, and so on.
- If he actually tells you to do something (which is very rare), do not disobey that request. 99% of the time it will be an order to remain in safety when something dangerous is afoot.
