Piles of fresh fruits on the stall seemed even more colourful when the summer sunshine kissed them, emphasizing both their appearance and sweet smell. It was impossible to go past them without peeking and wondering how did they taste like, which was only different in a Prince Soma’s case who knew exactly how good they felt on his tongue. Walking through the marked, he certainly paid too much attention to his surroundings than to his butler who was supposed to look after him – just in case he got lost somewhere between all those fruits and vegetables. But oh, how hard it was to focus when so many of those products were importet from him homeland India!
It was the matter of a single blink and Agni lost the prince from his sight, which left him letting out the loudest and most concerned scream one could ever imagine. Immediately he began running between the stalls and shouting for Soma, hoping that he couldn’t be too far away, nor in any kind of trouble. He was there three seconds ago, after all!
Prince Soma, however, completely oblivious about the heart attack he just gave to his butler, was now contemplaining over round, sweet mangos, trying to recall their taste from the time then he was back in home and the trees which gave those fruits were growing in his gardens. Reaching out to grab one of them and smell it, he suddenly felt a hard bump at his side and before he could turn around to see what was happening, there was a pair of arms embracing him tightly and a girlish voice saying happily:
“Oh, I wasn’t expecting to see
you there!”He was beyond confused. He may not have the best memory but he would certainly remember who this girl was, especially if they knew each other long enough to share sweet hugs just like that. Right now, however, his mind was blank and all he could do was to stare at her confused.
“Please,” he barely heard her now shaking voice and all of the sudden, he realized that the look in her eyes was caused by the sheer fear. “Pretend that you know me. Can I walk with you? I think I’m being followed.”
At first he looked up, scanning his surroundings to notice if there really was any kind of the danger but he didn’t have to look for too long until he saw three young, but not gentleman looking men who turned their gazes away just when he looked at them. He didn’t need to be asked twice, in an instant he hugged her so tight in caused her to let out a surprised gasp, especially when he twirled around with her in the arms.
“I’ve missed you so much!” he almost screamed, wanting to make sure that they heard him just fine. “How have you been?”
The men seemed to quickly resign of their current aim, while the small talk went unexpectedly well and natural between Prince Soma and her, especially when he offered her to buy some delicious mangos. After picking out few fruits, he gently took her hand in his and walked to the opposite direcion, constantly talking about how great it was to be able to pick them up from the trees and not stalls. Although this story didn’t make too much sense after a while, she couldn’t feel more relieved for his help and immediate reaction, thankful that she accidentally meet someone that expressive.
That is, until a very desperate sounding voice broke his story in the middle of the sentence:
“There you are! Prince Soma, I was so worried about you, please, do not ever escape like that from me, I have almost… who is that?”
“She is my new friend, Agni, I have met her two minutes ago! The ways of fate are truly mysterious, aren’t they?!”
