these turned into just random soft loki headcanons um i need help i love him so much
cuddling is definitely not his favorite thing at all at first
he’s very stiff
he doesn’t really know what to do
especially when it comes to close contact with a person
poor loki is touch-starved and that’s a fact
little things you do like hug him from behind or play with his hair will make him all soft and gentle
if you’re petting his hair he’ll nuzzle into your hand to try and get more contact
when he first realized that he really really loved your touch, he was sitting on the bed reading a book
you climbed on the bed and sat behind him, wrapping your arms and legs around him and resting your head on his shoulder
he stiffens, but quickly relaxes when he feels the familiar sensation of your kiss on his neck
“what are you doing, love?”
you’d giggle and kiss his cheek
“i wanted to cuddle with you”
his cockiness would come into play
“…gods do not cuddle” he says, not taking his eyes of his book
“ohhhh i think they do” you say with a 🙂
you slowly take the book from his hands, forcing him to pay attention to you
he sighs
“darling, can i have my book back?”
“not until you cuddle with me.”
he has no choice
you’ve taught him to not use force to take things
he sighs and you move from behind him so you can let him rest against the headboard
you’d snuggle up to his side and lay your head on his shoulder
at first he’d pretend that he didn’t like it
but then he’d start running his fingers through your hair and kissing your forehead every now and then
you’d press a kiss to his jaw and smile up at him
“i guess i was right, gods do like cuddling”
loki would roll his eyes and bury his face in your hair

after that you always cuddle in bed
his favorite cuddle position is him facing you while you’re the big spoon
even powerful gods like to feel safe and loved sometimes
loki secretly loves fluffy things
(if you’ve ever read Of Mice and Men, he’s like Lennie when it comes to soft things, they provide a sense of comfort and calmness–except loki doesn’t kill said soft things)
fluffy blankets are his favorite
especially when it comes to cuddling with you
does loki have a teddy bear you got him from build-a-bear with a homemade helmet like his you made for it? yes
it stays under the bed at all times to keep it a secret
but on nights when you’re gone on missions, he brings it out
by the way, loki will be the big spoon sometimes
when you’re sick, after a hard mission, or just when you need someone to comfort you–he’s there to hold you in his arms
