All day, people had been teasing Yuri about his cat ears headband, which both served to keep his hair out of his eyes but also made him look even more like a grumpy kitty.
Of all the people that had teased Yuri – all in good nature, of course – you were the only one to have not said anything.
Yuri felt that perhaps that meant that you didn’t care for the cat ears, but the truth was that you liked them a little too much. You had struggled not to squee when you had first seen them because really, despite his moody countenance, he was such a softie.
“Y/N.”
Your eyes shot up to meet Yuri’s own.
He was stood before you, a hand twinging one of the metal framed cat ears.
“You didn’t – you didn’t say anything about these and -”
Yuri frowned, unable to understand why he cared so much.
“I didn’t want you to think I was just teasing you. I think you’re cute, Yuri.”
“Really?”
“Really.”
Yuri gave you a soft smile and you once again felt like you were going to squee.
