Hello! So sorry this took so long for me to write! Midterms were a battle haha But I’m glad to say I passed all of them! So hooray for that! Feel free to go and request something else since this took a million years.
(⌒_⌒;)
I’m so sorry, and I hope you enjoy!
Yurio:
-Yurio realizes that he loves his s/o while they’re traveling to a skating competition in London. And it’s not one definitive moment; more like a whole set of instances that combined and made the thought hit him like a ton of bricks.
-When they were at the airport (just boarding the plane I might add) when Yurio suddenly remembered he left his headphones on the counter at home, while Georgi suddenly freaks out because he left his makeup case in the car. It’s just a jumbled mess of the both of them screaming about their forgotten items when Yurio’s s/o just pulls both their possessions out of their pockets and gently tells them to calm down and to head onto the jetway. And Yurio just has this moment of “What would I do without you.” (And Yakov has a “where has this person been all my time as a coach?” moment to be honest. “They’re organized, all their ducks are in a line, and we’re actually on time for once holy shit”)
-On the plane Yurio’s s/o (being an absolute hero) decides to take the seat with a four year old behind them so nobody on the skating team has to. And that way Yurio can get his rest so he’s not jet lagged for the competition. Cut to the four year old kicking Yurio’s s/o’s seat ALL three hours and fifteen minutes to London while Yurio sleeps. (When Yurio wakes up and find out about what they had to endure it only solidifies his opinion that his s/o is a literal angel.)
-When they get to the hotel Yurio and his s/o share a room, and they wake him up every day they’re there with a gentle kiss on the head, and a light breakfast already prepared. So he’s fully refreshed and on time for practices, which Yakov and Lilia are over the moon about.
-While Yurio is skating he can always pick out his s/o cheering for him. Even though there are at least a 1,000 people in the stadium he can pick their voice out in an instant. They always sound so excited and overjoyed for him when he executes his routine perfectly.
-But it doesn’t fully hit him how much he needs them in his life until they have to leave the competition suddenly. There’s a family emergency back home, and they have to get on the next plane to Russia immediately. They don’t even get to see the final skate to see who wins.
-When Yurio comes off the ice his s/o isn’t there, and even though he just won the gold he feels sad. Yakov tries his best to show enthusiasm, but it (obviously) isn’t the same. His s/o isn’t there to almost hug him to death and give him a new cat plushie (and a kiss), and God does he miss their smile.
-They’re not even back at Yurio’s apartment when he finally gets back to Russia because they were at their family’s home a few towns over. The apartment is just so empty and quiet without his s/o there and he absolutely hates it. It’s like there’s something missing, and everything is bleak because of it.
-When they tell him they’re on the way home he waits by the door for them to come back. They’ve barely shut the front door when he just latches onto them and won’t let go. His s/o pushes the door closed with their foot and embraces Yurio right back.
-It’s very quiet, and if there hadn’t been complete silence in the apartment his s/o would’ve missed it but Yurio says a muffled “I love you” into their shoulder.
-If the past week has taught him anything it’s the fact that he can’t live without his s/o and that he never wants them to leave his side.Otabek:
-Otabek too realised that he loves his s/o during skating season. They always supported his career no matter what, and did everything they could to help him.
-During the three weeks before Otabek’s skating competition his coach was pushing him harder than ever. Longer practices, stricter diet, more workouts, ect.
-And no matter how late practice ran his s/o was still up, bright eyed and bushy-tailed, with a hot meal ready, and dancing to the radio in the background. No matter how many times Otabek told them to just go to sleep when it starts getting late, they never listen. His s/o knows that Otabek wouldn’t eat a good meal otherwise, and they want to be there to welcome him home.
-And to return the favour in the mornings Otabek prepares their favourite breakfast, which he delivers to them in bed, along with a cup of coffee. Unfortunately he doesn’t get to stay long with them because he has to go to practice.
-On occasion his s/o joins him for a run, or when he goes to the gym to either work out as well or to cheer him on as he prepares to compete. (Sometimes his coach will call his s/o and get them to come to practice when it’s crunch time and he needs Otabek to preform at his best. He always does better when his s/o is there watching)
-They’re both packed and ready to go to the competition when Otabek’s s/o gets a call from their workplace. Their boss denied they’re request for vacation time because it’s a busy week for the company. His s/o is crushed (and so is Otabek but he hides it since he doesn’t want them to feel bad.)
-So his s/o drives him to the airport in the morning, and with one final kiss they have to leave him at the main entrance. His coach can see that Otabek is upset, and his s/o has barely even driven out of sight yet. He gets on the plane and goes to the competition trying to put on a brave face.
-But it’s the first time his s/o has ever not been there when he was competing. And something about that hits him just right on the day of his free skate, and it’s an absolute disaster. (I’m talking about a JJ type of disaster) He ends up getting one of his lowest scores ever, and it breaks his s/o’s heart.
-They were watching it all on TV, and even though he seems unfazed his s/o knows he’s just trying to be tough. He doesn’t even pick up their phone calls because he feels like he’s let his s/o and his country down.
-So Otabek’s s/o goes into work the next day and basically tells their boss that the love of their life needs them, and that if they have any problems with that please let them know after they return home. And with that they hop on the next flight to where the competition is being held. When Otabek’s s/o knocks on his hotel door he is overwhelmingly happy to see them. He holds them tight, almost as if he’s afraid his s/o will disappear if he let go. They just rub his back and tell him it’s ok, and that they love him very much. That hug explained all the emotions that he was feeling that he just couldn’t put into words. And his s/o understood all of it.
-That was the moment he realised he loved his s/o to the ends of the earth. They fell in love with him because he was Otabek Atlin and not the hero of Kazakhstan. His s/o had become such an important part of his life he couldn’t imagine his life without them in it.
