Deku is that uncle

Okay hear me out. So I feel like everyone has that one uncle who likes to be dramatic AF and who tells all these crazy stories. And I wholeheartedly believe that Midoriya Izuku is one of these uncles. Like I can just imagine him interacting with his fellow hero’s various offspring and being simultaneously the best and worst uncle (I’m using uncle in the familiar way that close family friends get the title)

At the monthly class A reunion little Uraraka stumbles up to him, followed closely by the equally small Bakugou child. They seem fascinated by his heavily scarred and deformed hands. So one of them dares to ask him what happened. By now he has a little crowd of mini versions of his friends surrounding him. And Izuku being the fucking beautiful idiot he is looks them dead in the eyes and says “I pulled a hangnail too far.” And he just watches the panic and confusion as those sweet little kiddos try to wrap their minds around that.

“Why didn’t you stop?!?” One of the kids asks distressed and Izuku just shrugs.

“Because I just couldn’t stop!” He’s gesturing dramatically and has somehow managed to make real fear appear on his face. “You can’t stop once you start pulling one of those. If you do you’ll lose your whole finger to infection!!” The kids all start looking at each other in a panic about to cry probably when Izuku’s own kid comes over and just deadpan calls out their dad for being full of shit.

“Stop lying to them.” His own kid is stern and honestly so fed up with their dad being an idiot. “He hurt his hands fighting in high school.”

Of course, this only interests the kids further and they start asking Uncle Deku to tell them all about it. He keeps lying to them, telling them he fought a bear and other stupid stories until his kid gets so fed up they just tell the others the truth. “He got hurt fighting my dad in the sports festival.”

“Aw why’d you have to go and ruin it?” Izuku literally whines like one of the children he’d been teasing.

The kids take this information in stride and they all agree that a fight between Uncle Deku and Uncle Shouto would be really cool. Then one of the little shits looks their uncle right in the eye and says, “Yeah, but you love Uncle Shouto too much. You probably tried to help him and you let him win, right?”

And from across the fucking room Shouto just yells “YOU LET ME WHAT?!!? MIDORIYA??!?!”

So that’s how Izuku found himself having a full on battle with his husband in the backyard of Yaoyorozu’s estate. The kids sitting on the sidelines completely satisfied with themselves for getting back at their lying Uncle Deku.
