The relationship you had with Tamaki was normal. Like any other couple that were together you both laughed and smiled making him feel special in any way you could. It was your job to keep your partner happy and safe always all the time. But after a few weeks in after talking to the students at U.A he was changing.
Tamaki wasn’t the same person he was and every time when you spoke to him he would brush you off. His smile never reached his eyes anymore and it felt like he didn’t care about you anymore. That was what you thought, you tried to reach out to him and smile.
“Tamaki!” You exclaimed seeing him laying down on the couch, he looked up seeing you. “Do you want to watch a movie?” he shook his head not saying another word.
“Good morning Tamaki.” he was already awake waiting for you, leaning in you went for a kiss but he got up making you fall face down on to the matress. “We need to get ready to go to work.”
It broke your heart but kept trying to get him to smile it was worrying you but you didn’t say anything about.
“Tamaki…” you said and he answer with a “Mhm” you took a deep breath and were about to ask him what was wrong but he got up from his chair “I’m fine don’t ask what’s wrong.”
Then it was to making him his favorite dessert or treats that he liked to make him feel better. You knew something was wrong so you had to make him smile somehow.
“I made you your favorite dessert babe! I hope you like them.” you said having hope within you that he will come around with the show if affection you made for him. He looked down at the plate and nodded “Thanks…maybe later.” and he walked away letting your hope to disappear.
Called him nicknames and always have him the good morning kiss but he never kissed back anymore. You tried again and again after that morning but it wasmt working. Your heart was breaking, and it was taking a toll on you.
So one day you stopped mopping around and during breakfast you decided to break the silence. Enough was enough and you deserved to be told the truth without any lies.
“Tamaki…do you want to break up?..” you asked him taking him by surprise “What are you talking about…” he said “You know what I’m talking about…ever since you came back from U.A it hasn’t been the same…and I can’t guess what’s on your mind if you don’t say how you feel..”
He sighed leaning back and placed his head on his hands. Tamaki didn’t know what to say it was difficult and it was stupid what he was doing to you yet he didn’t manage to notice it. “I’m sorry…I didn’t mean to make you feel unwanted. I just feel like you deserve someone better. I’m a nobody…I’m not like Mirio. I’m just too pathetic to be around anyone…I’m not loud and strong like Mirio. Everyone was getting excited over him when he started to go against them. I tried but my nerves and self confidence were shot down. It took a toll on me…and I thought I didn’t deserve you so I did everything to make you want to leave. You deserve someone better…but all I did was hurt you even more..”
Once those words left his mouth you started to cry because it hurt seeing the one person that you love feel like they’re not good enough. That wasn’t the case for him you loved him so much for who he is and to see him this defeated it didn’t feel right. You stood up and walked over to him. Once you were behind him you wrapped your arms around him from behind hugging tightly.
“I don’t know why you can’t see how amazing you are. Mirio isn’t you that’s why I love you.” you said making him feel shocked for saying that you loved him. “I know it’s out of all of a sudden but that’s how I feel. I got with you and fell for who you are and no one else. You’re different and you are great and incredible at what you do. You deserve to feel happy and loved. And if it takes years to let you know and understand that I love you for you then so be it.”
You kissed his cheek and hugged him tightly, “I love you and I don’t need anybody else. I just want you…and only you Tamaki.”
He placed his hand on top of your forearms as he pulled you down on to his lap. His head rested on your chest as he pulled you close to him. You felt something wet on your chest and looked down to see him crying. You couldn’t make him understand right away but you for sure as hell bet that you’d do anything to make him know how much you love him.
“You are someone who deserves the world. Don’t compare yourself to Mirio please. There’s so many wonderful things that I love about you. Your sense of humor, the way you smile when you get happy. That little twinkle in your eye that appears when you are content. Your soft hair and how sensitive you can get as well as caring when I need you. You are there for others when you need to be and that makes me fall for you even more.” you felt him smile and it brought you some peace at least.
You began to play with his hair gently as he closed his eyes and hummed feeling better. “I don’t know what I would do without you…” he mumbled “And I wouldn’t either but I’m glad I don’t have to find out any time soon.” he lifted his head up and looked you in the eyes, “I love you too.”
Your eyes began to tear up in happiness and you couldn’t be much better than having the man that you loved right here with you. He smiled softly with loving look and leaned in as he pressed his lips against yours. Feeling his lips on yours and all the emotions that were behind that kiss made it more special. A just pure kiss can bring so much happiness and it brought in everything you both felt. Tamaki was wrong in thinking he didn’t deserve you but he realized you loved him and as long as you did there wasn’t anything else he had to worry about.
