Dabi x Reader
58. “Making out in a graveyard?”
“Making out in a graveyard? Classy.” Dabi drawled as you clawed at your attacker, clearly not enjoying the whole thing.
Luckily, the other males presence forced him to loosen his grip on you and you promptly shoved him away, stumbling out of his arms and wiping at your mouth irritably. You didn’t make it too far before he had grasped your wrist in a bruising grip, keeping you in range of him no matter how much you tugged.
“Mind your own business.” You shifted uncomfortably at your assaulter’s response, glancing warily at the newcomer. Your — unintentional? — savior. Hoping he wouldn’t leave you alone with him again; admittedly afraid of what might happen to you if he did. As if in slow motion, he pulled a hand from his pocket, and blue flames erupted from his palm.
You tugged more urgently at your wrist, realizing what was about to happen, and braced your arm with your other hand, leaning backwards; he didn’t budge, even when the fire was casually tossed your direction. He was lit on fire instantly, and his hand snapped open as he screamed, sending you sprawling onto your butt and awkwardly scooting yourself away from his burning body.
Dabi waltzed up to you casually — like you hadn’t just witnessed him murdering someone — hand returning to his pocket as he looked down at you curiously, leaning down a bit so that there wasn’t such a size difference. Distantly, you realized your were trembling.
“Are you alright, dollface?” Dabi spoke softly, as if handling a wild animal. His eyes seemed to glow from the light of his own fire, giving him an otherworldly look. You weren’t positive you hated it though, even with him now being lit enough for you to see his scars.
Was it a Halloween costume or real? Maybe he was going for a modern Frankenstein’s monster or something? You didn’t care. Gratitude outweighed even your natural instinct to flee him, like he was some kind of a predator and you were his prey.
“Yeah, I— I’m fine?” You whispered, and relaxed a bit when he smirked down at you. Your thundering heart seemed to calm when he leaned back a bit so that he was standing at his full height again, still eyeing you with interest.
“Thank you.” You added quickly, and he nodded in acknowledgment. Seemingly satisfied with your disheveled state, he turned and continued on his merry way; almost like he’d never been there at all. You watched him go with wide eyes until he seemed to disappear into the darkness of the night.
