Asahi loves you. There wasn’t any moment where he would doubt you. He loves to show you off not because he wants to brag well yeah he does to but to know that he is yours and he is lucky to be with you. So really there wasn’t any chance in hell that you could have been cheating on him despite the rumors. But one day he broke and kept mumbling to himself if it was true or not.
“Shut up you are going to give me a headache man, if you want to know why don’t you ask her instead?” Kisumi said “Because she will think I don’t trust her!” he said throwing his head as he moved his gaze upon the ceiling seeing as the decoration circled around the place. “Do you trust her?” he asked.
“Of course I do! I just don’t trust whoever she’s with.” Asahi knew better than to doubt your faithfulness but he was secretly insecure that you could get with anyone any day and not let him know. He loved you too much and didn’t want you to leave him. He either had to come up with a plan to see if it was true or ask you because this was killing him mentally. “Alright, well why don’t you spy on her then?” Kisumi suggested “I can’t spy on her…isn’t that invading her privacy?..” he asked looking at him only for Kisumi to shrug “Not if you have someone with you, and you only want to know if it’s true or not that’s all.”
Asahi thought it through, maybe the plan might work and he will get to see why you have been acting so secretive lately. But going into this can go in many ways either he was being dumb and acting that you were cheating on him. Or it being true and getting his heart broken. It was a tough decision, honestly there wasn’t anymore time to sit around and wait. It was time for him to act.
He got up with a determined look on his face, “I’ll go! I’m sure this is just some misunderstanding right?” Kisumi just smiled but deep down he didn’t know if this was right for the plan that he proposed of course. “Yeah! Maybe it is just some um mistake or something.” Asahi nodded feeling like he could conquer the world knowing he was wrong and everything was fine between you both.
After school you were at locker getting ready to change out of your slippers and into your shoes before heading out. “Ahhh!” you yelled making everyone to turn around and look at you. “Damn it babe!” you said chuckling but trying to catch your breath. He had scared you when you went to close the door of your locker. “Sorry [Name]!” he said chuckling and giving you that smile you loved too much to stay mad at. “It’s okay you just took me off guard.” you sat down and put your shoes on, “What’s up?” you asked him.
“I was wondering if you wanted to go to the park and study there for tomorrow? I kinda need help with math.” he said and you felt bad because you couldn’t go with him today either you hadn’t really prepared yourself as to how you were going to keep your excuses to continue on with your plan. So you smiled rubbing the back of your neck, it was true that you felt bad and wanted to help him out but it wasn’t possible not until you were finished.
“Sorry…Asahi but I can’t today either I have to go to work since my co worker called in sick this morning. I’m taking her shift right after school!” you said and he just kept looking at you trying to figure your body language and from the things he searched up you were lying but he couldn’t figure out why. Asahi just smiled waving it off “No worries, I hope she’s feeling better. I’ll tell Kisumi if he can tutor me for that. I’ll see you tomorrow then?”
You let out a sigh nodding, “Of course I promise tomorrow we can hangout after school.” you kissed his cheek before speeding off quickly. Asahi then followed a few feet behind you as you began to slowly down. Kisumi saw him and decided to follow him along with the mission in case it went wrong.
Your movement stopped at the front of the school’s bench, your eyes moved around as if you were looking for something or someone to be exact. The sun was setting down so it was a bit hard to see but you catched the blue hair and went over him. “Haru hey!” you exclaimed and he gave you a soft smile “Hey [Name].” he said.
“Why is she with Haru?!” Asahi exclaimed trying to keep his voice down so you wouldn’t hear them. “Maybe he works with her there?” Kisumi said “Haru only lives and breathes water he doesn’t have time to get a job!.” he said squinting his eyes more seeing their bodies really close together. They both began to move as you and him did and followed seeing you were about to cross the street. Asahi and Kisumi went over quickly but still stayed behind a bit to see where you were heading.
The light changed and tried to walk closely behind you. But there were other people coming and it was a mob of people to be exact. Asahi tried to stand up taller and see where you were headed but he didn’t see you anywhere. “We lost them!” he yelled, Kisumi looked around and pointed to the both of you walking into a store. “There! They are heading into the…cafe?..”
“Hurry! We can’t lose them!” Asahi yelled and they made their way through the crowd apologizing for the pushing. Once they arrived you were both inside looking at pastries. There was something Haru had said that made you laugh. Don’t get him wrong he was happy that Haru was being more social but the fact he was smiling with you which is rare made his stomach drop.
It was too much to bear for him before he was able to walk up to them Kisumi pulled him back. “Wait…just wait and see what happens then you can confront them Asahi.” he said and followed the advice sitting down on the table at the far end corner watching you both. If looks could kill Haru would have been dead by now, Asahi was never a jealous person but seeing how perfect Haru was it got to him. I mean who wouldn’t want someone like him to be their boyfriend?
“This is killing me.” Haru mumbled, “What’s wrong?” you asked him “My shoulder I think I stretched it too much today at practice.” he said rubbing it but it was no use “Here let me help.” you went behind him and began to rub your hands his shoulders making his body relax. “That feels nice..“he mumbled "I do this to Asahi all the time hopefully it helps your shoulder feel better. We can do this another time if you want Haru i don’t want you to stay behind if you’re not feeling well.”
“No I’ll be fine with the massage you are giving me. Asahi Is lucky.” you blushed hearing the compliment he was never one to say that so it made you feel special. “Well if you need a massage don’t hesitate to call me Haru.” you said chuckling as a joke. However from far away Asahi was livid he would literally have smoke coming out of his ears if this was a cartoon. The way your hands were on him and how you were blushing made him think the worse.
“That is it!” Asahi yelled “No wait-” Kisumi said but it was late and the cafe would soon hear the wrath of Asahi Shiina. “So this is what you said your work was going to be?!” you jumped pulling away quickly from Haru and looking at Asahi. “No! Wait what are you doing here?!” you exclaimed. “I can’t believe you have been lying to me this whole time! If you wanted to break up you could have just told me [Name].”
Your eyes widened at his explanation, “Break up? Wait…you thought I was cheating on you?” he shook his head “Doesn’t matter you and Haru seem really touchy with each other right now weren’t you? Him making you laugh and blush and what not!” He yelled. Haru was there just staring and looking at you both. Kisumi then joined in afterwards “Asahi lower your voice down.”
“Did you not know how much I had to see? He was all over you! His hands were too close to your waist and those smiles he was giving you! I’m glad you are making friends and all Haru but not when you are being lovey dovey with my girlfriend here-”
“Asahi!” you yelled making the people in the cafe to turn around and look at you “I’m not cheating on you with Haru babe!” his finger that he was using to point at Haru went down, “Then why did you lie?..”
“Because she didn’t know what to get you for your birthday. I suggested her that you liked sweets from this cafe so I brought her here. She’s been asking for advice from all of us.” Haru said making you nod, “Yeah I wanted to be special and thought why not get you something you love.”
Asahi mentally slapped himself for being an idiot, “Im an idiot” he said “Yeah you are! Why would you think I ever cheat on you?! I love you Asahi.” you said and grabbed the box from the counter “I just thought you would get someone better than me [Name] I mean Haru is a good upgrade…and I’m just me.” he said “Thanks I think..” Haru said making you chuckle.
“I would never dishonor you like that Asahi, Im sorry for being secretive I just wanted it to be a surprise for tomorrow. I also asked Haru for help, making the food and things for our picnic tomorrow. But I guess that surprise his no longer a surprise.” you said “I’m sorry…I didn’t mean to screw things up.”
You shook your head chuckling, “You are an idiot Asahi.” but you didn’t mean it as an insult you were smiling “I may be an idiot but I’m your idiot.” he said pulling you close to him. “You are.” he leaned in and kissed you sweetly letting you know how sorry he was for all of this. “I told you there was nothing to worry about dude.” Kisumi said.
You smiled widely knowing he understood, and he was relieved that you understood his intentions. He was insecure but as long as you loved him that was all that mattered to him.
“And for that you are going to pay for the pastry mister.” he whined but nodded.
“Okay I can do that at least.” he said chuckling “Oooo can I get a pastry then?” Kisumi asked “Fine! I’ll buy you all pastries too!” he said he was an idiot but he was glad that you loved him no matter what.
