No one really noticed at first. The way Loki completely ignores everyone around him when you’re in the room, his eyes on you and on you only. The features on his face softened, eyes full with awe as he stared at you, the warm feeling in his stomach erupted, exploding into tiny pieces and spreading around his entire body as you place your hand on his arm while speaking to him.
He loved the way you got excited over the littlest things. The way you smiled at him made his heart soar all the way to Asgard. If he could, he would collect all the stars in the universe and gift them to you, although those stars would never be able to outshine your beauty.
The first to notice Loki’s behaviour was indeed Thor. Discussing actions they needed to do for Asgard but as you walked into the room, Loki forgot what he was doing, breath hitched as his eyes were reeled towards you.
“Brother?” Thor questioned, a confused look on his face as Loki turns back to his sibling. “I think that’s a good idea brother.” Loki says quickly, further confusing Thor, before walking off to your direction, making a sarcastic remark to you that made you laugh.
“But… I didn’t say anything?” Thor looked at the two of you talking to one another, watching you jokingly shove Loki and his fond look at you smile and shake at his jokes.
Thor was labelled by the Avengers to be ‘slow’ to many things, but the realisation of his brother head over heels over someone that was in fact perfect for him clicked immediately, smiling to himself as he walked out of the room, leaving you both together.
The next to notice was Bruce. The quiet scientist himself rarely said anything during meetings or during Tony’s extravagant parties, unless it was needed.
Standing in the corner of the room as more people filed in, Bruce kept out of their way. Glancing around the room, seeing all the Avengers mingling with the crowd, Tony in the centre of the room with a group of people around him all staring at Iron Man in awe. Steve standing near the pool table beside Bucky and Sam. Wanda supervising both Peter and Vision near the kitchen as Peter continuously asking Vision to stick a fork into a plug socket ‘just to see what happens’.
Soon after Bruce found Loki beside Rhodey and yourself. Although Bruce was quick to notice how Loki barely acknowledge Rhodey who stood beside him, eyes only on you as you spoke to the two. Rhodey said something to the two of you causing you to burst out laughing, Loki’s gaze on you softening as he watched you laugh, a soft smile playing on his lips. Bruce’s eyebrows were raised in shock as he witnessed that exchange, not being able to think much of it as Natasha makes her way towards him.
The last to notice was Tony. Everyone excluding Peter was sitting around the table for a prep meeting, Tony sitting at the head of the table, Steve sitting beside him.
Loki felt uncomfortable in the room, not because of anyone in particular, but because he feels as though with the threat of another planet attacking earth came to light, all Avengers were hesitant to be around him, afraid that this was one of his doings, all except You.
He continued to look either down at the table or at Tony who carried out the meeting. Loki tried his hardest to make sure to not look at you, wanting to stay focused during the meeting, but as you began to speak after Tony he couldn’t stop himself from looking at you.
As his eyes glanced towards you, he felt as though his heartbeat increased as though he was running. The tension in his body physically left his body as his shoulders slackened, eyes full of admiration as he listened to the soft words come out of your plump lips.
Loki barely realised you stopped talking, still looking at you as you nodded your head to what Steve said to you, lightly laughing in response. He didn’t even notice the few Avengers beginning to leave the room.
“Hey Snape, you might wanna stop ogling at Y/N during meetings.” Tony says from his seat, causing you to turn your head to Loki who immediately felt embarrassed, quickly getting up from his seat and leaving the room.
You immediately called after Loki, chasing after him, finally catching after him after a couple moments.
“Loki…” You said softly, causing his eyes to meet yours, you slowly placed a hand on his cheek , a soft smile on your face as you looked at him.
“You know… Im head over heels for you too.” You whisper, laughing lightly to relieve tension.
“Why would someone like you, like someone like me?” Loki questioned, eyebrows furrowed.
“Because, you’re you. Despite what happened before, you’ve become a better person, not letting it affect your future. You are always there to listen to me and you are caring, even though you have a hard time showing it, I adore you and I believe you deserve the absolute world Loki.
Loki felt like his heart was physically ripped out of his body by you. He felt his heartache at your words. The kindness and truth in your words making him fall even deeper than before.
He opened his mouth to speak but no words came out. He scanned your face, a small smile on his face as he wraps his arms around you, holding you against him tightly. You were quick to wrap your arms around him, head resting on his chest.
“Thank you.” He barely gets out as he continued to hug you, you felt your heart tug at his words.
“You will forever have my undying attention my love.”
