Fluffy Early Relationship Prompto Headcanons

Yeah, just a continuation of the ones I posted before, except it’s like a new couple in their honeymoon phase or something like that. He’s my favorite if you couldn’t already tell 😏. Oh yeah, and I’m almost always on mobile so I’m limited from basic formatting lol.

• Is a chameleon in a sense that he adapts to what you are comfortable with, to the point where it becomes routine for him. Like, there are weekends where you prefer to just hole up with a good book or movie to watch instead of going out (don’t we all). He’ll be more than happy to indulge, and actually really likes that about you. He always felt like he had to really put himself in the forefront at any given opportunity to fit in, but watching you be comfortable in your own skin, with your own unique traits, gives him a bit of a confidence boost.

• He’s definitely shy around you still, but there’s an important distinction. Not shy in the way of intimacy or conversation. More so, he will zone out watching you get ready for something. Doing your hair, make up, coordinating outfits. He will have a tiny smile the entire time, watching how effortlessly beautiful you make every mundane task appear…

• “Watcha lookin’ at, Prom?” You know.

• This is the point where his shyness is extremely obvious. He’ll blush and stammer, acting like he was really into one of your wall fixtures. He overcorrects himself.

• See, he is still stick in the mentality that he is not good enough, let alone good enough to have a girlfriend. He’s always on high alert for coming across as a creep (when he was an overweight teen, he had been subject to many a pretty mean girl laugh and ridicule him for his shy flirting).

• He is Intimidated by pretty girls, especially you. Some things take getting used to.

• He’s afraid you’re going to one day say this was some elaborate prank, you dating him.

• But then he snaps out of it when he catches a glimpse of your genuine nature time and time again.

• I think people mistake Prompto as being feminine, but I just think he has an extreme likeness for anything feminine in nature. He really likes animals and children, but that doesn’t mean he’s not masculine (Its really just a measure of empathy…Henry Rollins supposedly scored higher on his feminine than masculine side in some psychological test so there ya go lol).

• As mentioned before, he’s really good with children. But more so, children gravitate towards him. He’s always baffled why, but doesn’t mind. Can be seen giving your little nieces and nephews helicopter rides until exhaustion. Then they will just climb all over him.

• Gets certain vibes from others without having the words to explain. “She’s just so..man I don’t know. But I know she’d be into that, trust me dude”.

• Is a secret smoker. He’s trying to quit, he’s not proud of it at all, but it definitely helps to calm his nerves. As competent as he is with guns and battle, coming close to death will affect people differently. Gladio will isolate, maybe read. Noct will sleep, Iggy will busy himself with preparations..and Prompto will go off on a smoke break while going through his photos, preferably alone although Noct is aware of his habit. You kind of have a feeling, smelling smoke on his vest occasionally. His mood is noticeably different after a smoke, he’ll have a relaxed posture and won’t be his default skittish.

• But will make a serious effort to stop because of you.

• Definitely brags about you, but keeps the intimate details on lock and key. I think this is universal canon here…don’t see him as that type of guy.

• Loves to make you laugh, cannot say this enough. If he finds out something he did or does will send you into hysterics, he will tactfully find a way to keep it up. Simply put, he receives your energy, and only wants the good feelings you have to put out. Inversely, if something he said or did made you somber and contemplative, you’d be sure he’d never do it again.

• Despite his appearance, he’s not all that meticulous over what he’s wearing.

• Is definitely used to older ladies stroking his hair and cooing over how beautiful it is. Sometimes gets a little peeved though (it is rare to see blondes in Lucis).

• However, loves when you run your soft fingers through it, stroking his scalp.

• Is very strong despite being the runt of the squad. Those arms aren’t just for show. He’s surprised you countless times when moving you out of the way from accidentally being clipped by a bike, save you from falling with just one sturdy arm, and hoist you up and over his shoulder when you are being a naughty girl and he’s had enough of your teasing (prepare for some of your own).

• He is healthy, but he mostly just makes sure he doesn’t snack continuously or late at night.

• Has cute blonde armpit hair that is somehow never sweaty and is very soft (lol my favorite one)

• Is very good at fighting games, but the first few times he let you win until you challenged him.

• “If you beat me, I’ll sit on your lap and maaaayyybeeee give you a kiss.”

• Oh boy. He suddenly quit fucking around lmao.

• He rubbed his nose, warmed up his shoulders, leaned over his knees and got SERIOUS.

• He was still except for the slight bouncing of his leg. His eyes were so focused on the screen, comfortable yet firm grip on controller

•Then he literally sent your little fighting character off the damn map like

• Whut

• But he didn’t gloat or anything. He just placed the controller on the table in front of you two, turned to you with a bright smile, and extended his arms.

• “C’mere babe!” He says, blushing a little bit because of course this would be your first..contact with him like this lol.

• “If you want…*ahem* hah… ”

• Hell yes you did. You surprised him by gently yet efficiently sliding yourself into his very sturdy and warm lap.

• Uhh..he didn’t think this far ahead lol!

• But his body operated on autopilot, and soon enough you found his arms snaking around your body, trapping your arms against your sides.

• He discreetly smelled your hair. It was so fruity and..light smelling.

• So was your neck.

• He wondered if it tasted the same.
