Ren Headcanons wth a Deaf S/O.
-Ren is many things, one of those is expressive. You can read his feelings from his face like a book and he relishes that the two of you can have entire secret conversation entirely non-verbally thanks to this.
– Can you read lips? He always makes sure you’re able to see his clearly, moving microphones just so and angling himself just right regardless of the situation. Interview, TV Appearance, casual hangout.
– Can you not read lips? Good job the moment he realised he was catching feelings for you he swallowed his pride and asked Masato to help him learn to sign. He’s not a terribly fast signer, but he’s understandable and despite the effort he’s making he treats it as a non-issue. After all, why shouldn’t he learn?
– Absolutely one of the first things he learns to sign is something about how he was always good with his hands (wink wink). You smack his arm playfully and watch him laugh.
– Your hands though….you move so fluidly through your speech that he tends to get mesmerised. The expressions you make along with the signing often makes him feel like he’s being drawn completely into the world of whatever story you’re regaling him with. Be prepared to repeat yourself a few times! He doesn’t want you to go slower though, he wants to be able to understand you at your pace.
– Speak? With or without impediment he can pick your voice out of any murmuring hubbub. It literally doesn’t matter. You genuinely wonder if he has super hearing a few times, but it’s just that he’s so attuned to you and always on the hunt for your voice.
– His sign name for you is absolutely Prince/ss, other hand over his heart.
– And he absolutely drops that in to any given appearance. No-one knows….except the two of you. You blush every fucking time becauses jesus fucking christ, Ren.
– He hums for you. Grasps your hands, kisses your fingers and sets your fingers on his throat, thumb rubbing circles on the back of your hand, foreheads touching. He also pulls this move when he wants to murmur affectionate nonsense, Darling and My Love rumbling under your fingertips.
– I’m torn between your sign name for him being Rose or Handsome (or both, mixed lmao), but your other hand over your heart while you sign it.
– I Love You signs pressed together when you greet one another, hello I die. (this one’s more specifically ASL since BSL’s involves both hands but a lot of BSL users in my experience know the ASL one too so I feel I can put it here ajskhdsajk)
Hey! Could you write something fluff-erful about Ren and him having a crush on a deaf s/o? I might not be able to hear the sound of his voice, but his personality really captures me. I imagine him having a really deep smooth voice, that sort of feels like a kind of coffee syrup on some ice cream. >///<
