Your writing is amazing! Could I get some botw Link headcanons about how he’d meet his s/o? And maybe how they’d get together?

This was sitting in the dusty corner of my inbox and I’m terribly sorry it took so long. Here’s the song for inspo. Hope you enjoy!

  • You meet in a tree.
  • You were just minding your own business, sleeping above the ground to get away from those vicious wolves. Via hand glider, he crash-landed into your pool soul, tumbling onto the ground with you in tow. It was a rude awakening to say the least.
  • You yell at him for the most part, taking the brunt of your harsh words, before you eventually realized something.
  • “You’re the Hero, that everyone is talking about? The one that will defeat Ganon?”
  • He slowly nods.
  • An idea formulates in your mind of yours.
  • “Well, it seems like you need a guide, don’t you?”
  • And thus your ragtag partnership began.
  • Thank god your dad was the village’s guard and your mom was the your village’s doctor.
  • You act as an aid to his adventures. Well more like a tired sidekick.
  • It was like taking care of a newborn deer. Your hand would almost always be gripping the sky blue collar of his tunic from the next monster of the week.
  • Every cut, every bruise, every broken bone, the guy shrugs it off but you’re already wrapping the bandage around his bloody ankle.
  • To make the hard shell of detachment crack between you two, through late night campfire talks. The glow of the embers highlight the weariness in his eyes and tired frown on his lips. A pain runs through your heart and you just find yourself opening up to him. You explain the whole reason why you joined him; you were banished from your village for a crime you didn’t commit, only welcomed back if you could prove yourself to be honest and heroic. He’s silent for the entire time as you divulge your life story, not looking particularly hurt from this truth. It lasts for an hour before you tire yourself out from this one-sided conversation.
  • “Thank you for listening, even if you were kinda forced to.”
  • He realizes that he likes the sound of your voice.
  • Your first moment of touch was when he had his first flashback. It was frightening to say the least. He was standing still and your frantic hands were shaking him to get any response. You were on the verge of tears when he finally gasped, looking like a fish out of water. Not knowing at all what happened, your first instinct was to engulf him in a sudden embrace. Link was dazed, but it his first instinct was to hug back, feeling an unfamiliar wetness on his shoulder. It’s been a 100 years since someone has held onto him so tightly.
  • He is taken away by your compassion and the innocent sparkle of curiosity in your eyes to every new animal or  plant. Your laugh is infectious enough to make him crack a smile, wishing he could match the resonance of your cackles. Your intelligence in tricks and wit obviously out masters him.
  • Once you took the time, the Hylian became very easy to read. You knew his brain, his heart, his insides. But there are moments where there was an unreadable fog in his eyes.
  • There are moments where you’re walking ahead of him, calmly staring out into the fading horizon. The setting sun kisses your skin and your eyebrows are relax. Seeing you fall in love with the ground you stand on and the air you breathe in.
  • This time seemed different. Peace was finally restored to Hyrule and Zelda returned. It was no lie that he did have growing feelings for the princess in the past. You even saw it and stayed away, respecting his feelings. But, nothing reignited. And this moment showed it.
  • Time stood still and an unusual warmth washes over him, frozen in place. You look back and see him, smile faltering into confusion at his unmoving figure. It just took one look to see what he was thinking.
  • You walked towards to him, touching his shoulder with a concerned grip.
  • “Are you okay, Link?”
  • He snaps out of his trance but he doesn’t move. His sharp eyes look through you, his calloused hand holding onto your hand that’s grasping your shoulder.  For once, he’s scared on what do next. You smile and press your lips onto his, Soft and fleeting.
  • It was tranquil but the world went quiet for the first time before you pulled away.
  • “Was that okay?” You shyly ask, slowly regretting your choice.
  • The only answer he gives is by puling you in for another one.
