His previous owner was rather neglectful and did not give Lúcio the medical care he needed. His problem was reported by a neighbor and Lúcio was then seized from the owner.
Luckily, the injury was caught early enough that it could be treated, but due to neglect, Lúcio was rather unsocialized and fearful of human contact. Certainly didn’t help that his wing had to be rebroken to put back in the right place.
You take him in as a foster to watch over his recovery in a less stressful environment and to help resocialize him. He was awfully shy and flapped his healthy wing a lot in an effort to escape you, but after lots of patience and a gentle touch, Lúcio starts going back to the sweet bird boy he used to be/
His feather puff up at the sight of you, and when you enter the room he lets out a sweet little chirp. He even plucked a bright and colorful feather from his wing and gave it to you.
Of course you couldn’t send him back once he recovered. You adopted him right then and there.
