Summary: A prompt someone sent me to do with Bucky… but it’s funnier with Loki tbh // Reader is a “young” Avenger, around 21. He has the powers that are never talked about because no reason, so it’s whatever your heart desires!
Pairings: Loki x Male Reader
Rating: Teen [PG-13]
Warnings: Sexual jokes
You had only been part of the Avengers for a few short months, you have never seen any action or fought any actual villains. You have to harness your powers first before you go fighting any battles, which is taking longer than you expect or wanted.
Although, it’s given you more time to explore the Avengers HQ and get to know your fellow team mates a little better. It’s also gotten you used to having Loki around, since him and Thor arrived with their ship of Asgardians, he had also been wondering around.
Thor wanted to keep a close eye on him, Loki didn’t seem to mind. You haven’t had a full conversation with him, passing comments when around the same living space and shared smiles. He seemed to have varying levels of friendships with the others, Tony was distant, yet they had sassy arguements and Bruce stayed away, but got along with him. Steve mostly kept away, but Thor is his bestie and would make himself socialise with the other God.
Clint hated him with a burning passion, yet wasn’t afraid to poke fun or mock him and Natasha hasn’t really expressed an outward opinion on Loki.
But you? You… like him. You’re kinda a fan, in a non weird way- if that’s possible. You studied Norse mythology in college, it was a blast and you learnt a lot about how the Viking’s viewed religion. Loki was one of the best God’s to learn about, although his tales are quite… amusing and weird.
Loki wasn’t entirely different to the mythology you had studied, definitely better looking than the depicted pictures and more modern. You, honestly, didn’t know what you expected when meeting the God of Mischief. So, since he was your favourite god to study, he was your lock screen- the drawings of him, not Loki now, just the pictures from the textbooks. You didn’t think he’d even know if he looked at it, so it wasn’t embarrassing for you because why would Loki know that?
You sat in the living room, scrolling through buzzfeed. Loki was reading some book on another sofa, he was so silent that you had forgotten he was even in the room.
“I’m stranded on a deserted island with the person on my lock screen. How screwed am I?” You ask yourself out loud, forgetting that there’s another person in the room, within earshot of you, too.
Without missing a beat, “Depends on how much energy I’ve got.”
You’re stunned into silence, your eyes widen and freeze. Loki knew you had him as your lock screen? All this time, he had known. Your eyes look at him, he’s peeking over the book and has a raised eyebrow. Almost mocking you for this, you silently go back to your quiz, feeling deeply embarrassed and confused.
“Woah, smooth…” is your late reaction and response.
Loki ends up chuckling at you and you both go back to your own things. Your heart racing a little at what Loki said, Loki seemingly unaffected by what he done.
Did he mean what he said? Was it just a joke, a passing comment meant to get a reaction from you? Your mind is racing, almost as fast as your heart. A part of you wanted Loki to mean it, yet you knew he didn’t. He’s a God, you’re not even a fully established Avenger, yet. You give a glance to Loki, once again consumed by the book before him, turning the pages delicately.
(This isn’t great. Sorry, I tried to write Loki as best I can but it’s difficult. I might delete this because I actually really hate it, but here’s a little something, I guess.- Rosalie🍑)
