word count: 1805 words.

It was not too long after the kiss that Sebastian returned with a fresh pot of tea and an uneasy smirk plastered on his face. As if having done this as a routine multiple times before, Ciel walked back to his chair and sat, while Sebastian poured the tea. You kept standing near the door, watching this scene play out.

“Sebastian, I have an order for you.”, the young Phantomhive spoke with closed eyes. The butler bowed in response and said his typical lines of,

“Yes, my lord.”

“I need you to get a carriage ready. We’re going to London to save that family. They are most likely being held captive at the place your majesty told me their mission was. So we are going there.”, Ciel explained and stood up.

“Right away, young master.”, Sebastian looked like he had something to say, but he couldn’t talk back to his master, so he remained quiet and left.

“Shall I escort you to the dinning hall, before I leave, my lady?”, the navette held out his arm for you to take, but you took his hand instead.

“Ciel, I’m coming with you.”, you eagerly exclaimed as you started dragging him outside with you.

“No, what are you even supposed to do?”

“You won’t do anything either! You let Sebastian do everything! You could just order him to save the family and let him go alone!”, you honestly spoke, catching the earl off guard.

“Ugh, how annoying.”, he whispered bashfully to himself as you reached the door of the manor,

“Fine.”, with Ciel’s last word, the door was opened from the outside, by none other than the demon butler himself. We followed him to the carriage and he helped both of us get in.

On the way to London neither of you two seemed to be wanting to speak. Your fiancé must’ve been upset with you, as he stared out the window, watching the scenery pass by. You, yourself were extremely confused of the situation you were in. After all you didn’t know anything; for example why were you at the Phantomhive manor? Where was Elizabeth? But most importantly, how would you get out of this daydream? Was it even one?

You let out a groan, getting the attention of the boy sitting in front of you,

“What’s the matter?”

“How mad are you at me?”, you decided to just simply ask him about everything.

“I am a little annoyed, but it’s just because I’m worried for your safety. You can’t say that I’m mad.”, Ciel shook his head and gave the slightest bit of a smile.

“I’m glad, but…”, you tried to come up with a way to discretely ask Ciel about Elizabeth again. When you mentioned her last time, he didn’t know anything about her. It was as if she didn’t exist at all. But if she didn’t exist, that would mean someone had to take her role in the life of the Phantomhives. Given the situation you are in, being the fiancée of Ciel and all, would mean that indeed you were Elizabeth,

“…Ciel, what am I to you?”

“You are my fiancée, of course. And you are also my cousin.”, he shrugged off.

Your eyes widened and you could feel your body trembling. You didn’t know why you reacted this way. After all, this was just a state your body was put in and your brain just did the stereotypical Ciel x reader thing, where Lizzy doesn’t exist. It was common sense, right? You weren’t actually there after all.

“Are you alright?”, Ciel kneeled in front of you, with his hands on your knees as he looked up at your shocked expression,

“That Trancy boy must’ve played with your memories quite a lot for you to react this way to a simple statement.”

“Ciel, you must tell me; is this re–”, you were cut off as the carriage stopped rapidly, which caused you to fall off your seat and land on Ciel’s lap. You both looked at each other’s faces blankly, before you started to laugh,

“This is too cliché for this kind of anime, man.”, you gasped for air, making sure that Ciel couldn’t understand what you were saying. Then Sebastian opened the door to the carriage and looked at you two with a smirk plastered across his face. He turned to the side with a hand in front of his mouth, as he held back his laughter. You knew from a few scenes in the anime how much joy the demon found in the young master’s misfortunes, if you could call it that. So you decided to tease him a bit more, for Sebastian’s sake.

“Ha~ I’m so sorry!”, you exaggerated your embarrassment with your hands covering your mouth and your eyes watering a little,

“If your thighs hurt, I can kiss them to make you feel better!”, you clasped your hands together, knowing exactly what you were doing, but still acting oblivious. In the background, Sebastian’s urge to laugh was reaching its breaking point, but he couldn’t possibly laugh at his master.

“N-no, I think I’m g-good.”, Ciel looked to the right bashfully. You didn’t want to admit it, but you could feel this talk did something to him.

“My lady, let us get serious now. We have a family to save.”, the butler said formally. Your mind snapped back to reality, or however much reality this was, and you stood up and jumped out of the carriage,

“Have no fear, for I am here!”, you yelled loudly until you realized where you were,

“Why are we at your London residence, Ciel?”

“Well, we cannot just go to the family, we have to come up w—”

“CIEL! You came to visit me so soon!”, a male with an Indian accent yelled from a window, before disappearing and reappearing in front of you three, his caretaker following him. You recognized these people. It was prince Soma and Agni, his butler.

“As I was saying, (y/n).”, Ciel looked you into your eyes, directly,

“We have to come up with a pbed to save yo—”, Ciel interrupted himself this time, coughing once before continuing to speak,

“We have to come up with a plan to save the family first. We cannot just go to family’s location and improvise.”

“But you almost never come up with real plans that aren’t asking Sebastian to make a list of the subjects and then just going for it.”, you tilted your head at the boy standing in front of you. One of his eyebrows raised at your statement.

“How do you know about that? This is your first time coming with me on such a mission.”

You immediately realised your mistake and thought of a way to cover it up when much to your delight, prince Soma started whining,

“Ciel! Don’t just ignore me!”

“My prince, let us all get inside. The Phantomhive boy must be exhausted.”, Agni held the prince by his shoulders from behind and dragged him towards the door of the big house in front of you all. Sebastian also motioned for us to follow him inside, so you did.

You were the last to go through the door, but before you could take a step in, you heard leaves rustle to your right. Right away, you turned your head towards the sound, getting a glance at something dark purple as it disappeared.

“My lady?”, Sebastian looked at you, genuinely worried, as you shrugged him off and followed your fiancé up the stairs. The demon also did so.

“Right.”, Ciel sat down on the bed and exhaled loudly as you and Sebastian walked through the door, the butler making sure to close the door behind you. The prince and his butler seemed to have remained downstairs, giving you three space to plan out your next move.

You looked at Ciel as he thought when you heard something that sounded like a bird flying against the window. Worried, you ran towards it and opened it to check if a bird really did fly against it. Looking at the floor, you couldn’t see anything, so you furrowed your brows and closed the window again.

“What is going on? Could it be the Trancy boy again…”, you wondered out loud.

Come to think of it, this whole dream started out at the Trancy estate, so could he be connected to this? Where were you before being kidnapped, anyways? You had so many questions. Nothing of this made any sense to you.

“(y/n), I think it is best if you stay here. You seem to be awfully troubled.”, your fiancé suggested, but you declined.

“Fine, then. Let us go.”, Ciel hopped off the bed and walked in front of you, extending his hand for you to take. Hesitant you laid your hand on his and much to your surprise he gave the back of your hand a light peck, causing you to flush red in embarrassment.

Back in the carriage it was once more awkwardly silent. But you didn’t mind that much, since you were busy organizing your thoughts.

I was kidnapped by Alois Trancy and I can’t remember anything before that. I was saved by Ciel Phantomhive and now I’m on a mission with him. I am also in the place of Elizabeth Midford, which means I must’ve also been through the same stuff as her. And my family is also in the place of her family, then, if I am correct.

Your glance went from the outside world, over to Ciel. He was also watching the scenary pass by. After all this time you had wished to be sitting right in front of him, you now were. But you were not doing anything you always planned to do. In your thoughts, you had wanted to hug him and just comfort him, after everything he’s been through. But being in the situation, you couldn’t bring yourself to.

Suddenly the carriage stopped again, giving you the signal of arrival at the place. You didn’t know what was going to happen, but it wouldn’t really matter anyway. If you die in your dream, you couldn’t die in real life. The worst that could happen if you die, was that you would wake up.

When you snapped out of your thoughts, you saw Ciel leaving the carriage and you decided to also do that. As you were reaching for Sebastian’s hand to help you get out, someone whispered in your ear,

“(y/n) (y/l/n).”

You jumped out of the carriage and looked behind you. No one was there. The thing was that that wasn’t any voice you knew. But Sebastian must’ve seen the person that said your full name out loud, because his eyes turned pinkish-red and he mumbled something to himself,

Shinigami.”
