Summary: When one of the Avengers finds a girl fleeing from her past, her only option is to trust them to help her. What they did not know was that this decision would change everyone’s life forever. Especially Tony’s.
A/N: Okay, I’ve been thinking about writing this for a long time ago, and it’s finally here! Hope you guys enjoy and tell me what you think! If you wanna be tagged just send me a ask!
You’re running as if your life depends of it, and stopping to think, it really does, so you run, like never before. Ignoring the complains of people and the wish of scream. Ignoring everything. You just runs. If she caught you, you’re going to have a fate worse than death.
You keep running, no stop until your lungs can’t take anymore, you start feel dizzy and because of this, your feet get in the way and you hit the ground.
The pain of the impact in your knee make you want to scream, and some people came ask if you’re okay or if you need help, but you don’t hear a word. The voices are too distant, everything seems on slow motion, blood pumping in your ears and your blur vision make everything difficult as you just pray to this people stop touch you.
You had to keep running. You had to keep running until you’re sure she wouldn’t find you.
You stand up slowly, yout knee not helping much with the goal, as long with some people that try to stop you. You push this persons away and start to run again, but this time, limping lightly, with sweat and blood mingling.
After just some minutes more, you can’t anymore, too tired and hurt to continue, you feel like you’re going to faint at any moment, and it’s going to be bad. You can’t risk to be taken to the authorities; you can’t.
Before you could think about to much, you came up against someone, making you and the person fall again, your blur vision prevents you from seeing what man it was.
“I’m sorry, Are you alright?” The man asks, with a strong accent it reassure you. None of her henchmen had accent.
You try to get up again but your body don’t cooperate, so you fall one more time and start feel the darkness, now known, try to reach you.
No! Not now! Please, not now!
“For all Gods, what happened to you?” a tone of urgency reach his voice. You feel the voice halfway close, but so far away at the same time. “Hey, look at me. I think you gonna faint” He try to hold your face, but you push him away immediately. “Okay. Okay. I’m not going to touch you. I’m not gonna hurt you”. He says softly, as the darkness grew closer and closer, and your whole body tremble and everything turn. “But you need help, little one. I’m going to take you to the hospital.”
This words make the desperation grow inside you again, making you look to the unknown man and shake your head frantically; The action only make you feel another wave of dizziness, this time stronger.
“Hey, hey, stay awake. You don’t wanna go to the hospital? Okay.” He seems to think for a few minutes and says “Okay, I’m going to… Hey, little one. Look at me, try to…”
You don’t listen, the weariness overcome you, making you plunge into the scary and familiar darkness.
“…I found her on the street… was running and fall in me. She seemed scared… I could leave… didn’t want me to touch her…”
“… Pretty ugly. Put her here.”
“Hey little one? Can you hear me? Open your eyes?”
“Her knee…”
You open your eyes slowly and as soon as you do, the throbbing pain in your head and knees hit you making you grimace in pain. Soon after, you feel a thing in your nose and only then realize that you have an oxygen mask in your face, which you pulled awkwardly, then you saw the carefully placed bandage around your head, over the cut that once bleed.
The brightness of the place makes your eyes hurt, so you close them quickly, making you feel an irritating wave of nausea.
You try to open your eyes one more time, and this time isn’t so hard. It hurts a little, but you blinks a few times trying to readjust the focus to examine the place that you’re in. When you vision isn’t hurting so much, you look around.
You’re in a white room with medical equipment around. A hospital.
Damit! I asked to that guy to not bring me here! I have to get out of here. Like, now.
You put your feet out, rising quickly, losing some of the balance, but soon recovering, looking around again, and approaching the immense glass window overlooking the whole city.
It’s a big hospital. With a little luck they won’t see me.
You go to the door and open it slowly, facing a large hallway with others many doors.
What a quiet Hospital. Hospitals aren’t supposed to be noisy? And it’s so big… Well, it’ll be more easy than I thought.
When you’re going to take the first step out of the room, you hear voices.
“Friday said she woke up” A male voice says.
“Is she okay?” Another male voice asks.
“I don’t know, she seemed pretty scared.” The guy with accented responds.
Fear invade you with full force as she close the door quickly, looking around for somewhere, anywhere to hide, and the only thing you see is a wall that who enters the room can’t see. You run there and lean back, hoping not to be seen.
You hear a knock in the door. “Hi, we coming.” The familiar voice froze your spine.
Oh, no.
They open the door and don’t see you, which give them urgency in his voice.
“Where is she?”
Oh no, this is much worse.
“Kid, it’s okay, we not going to hurt you.” You hear the voice you know very well from the television.
You see a boy of your age walking towards you and standing in front of you, the brown eyes never leaving yours.
Oh, fuck me.
“Mr. Stark.” The boy calls and the two men are now in front of you.
This is bad. This is very, very bad.
“Hi, I’m Loki, this is Stark and Peter, you’re safe now.” The accent man introduce himself.
You close your eyes tightly, trying desperately to find a solution to what was to come.
“It’s okay kid. You’re in the avengers tower.” Stark says with a worried expression.
I have to find a way to get out of here pretty soon.
