First and foremost: This post will contain spoilers for season 2, so if you haven’t watched it yet I advise you to look away.
You and Alucard watched as Trevor and Sypha’s wagon set off. Giving one last wave, you turned to look at Alucard. He had a small smile on his face but you could tell there was a sadness behind it. Trying to be lively you spoke up.
“Why don’t we start cleaning up the castle?” you said with a big smile. He looked down at you and returned the smile. Grabbing your hand in his, and the both of you started to head back.
It had been about half an hour since you started cleaning up together, then you moved onto the room next to the one Alucard was working on to speed things up. As you were picking things up, you found a small locket with no picture inside. You admired it for a bit before realizing you didnt know what to do with it. It might be important to the blonde vampire so you decided to go over to the next room and ask him what to do with it.
“Hey Alucard, where should I-“ you stopped when you saw him sitting in a big red and brown chair, holding his head and quietly sobbing. You ran over to him and got down on one knee to get on his level, grabbing his hands.
“Oh Alucard, it’ll be alright,” you reassured him. He kept his head down to keep you from seeing him cry. You put a hand on the side of his head and encouraged him to look at you. His golden eyes were a bit bloodshot and he pursed his quivering lip to keep the tears from flowing.
“Alucard, it’s ok to cry. But you’re not alone anymore, so I ask that you don’t cry alone. I’m here with you,” you told him. He started to cry again and and looked down at the ground. With a gentle touch, you pulled his head into your shoulder and rubbed his back, whispering that the hard part is over and that you’d be there to support him. He grabbed onto your shirt and continued to sob into your shoulder. It went on like for quite a bit and by the time he lifted his head to look at you, the sun was setting. You gave him a genuine smile and helped him up.
“Come on, the sun will set soon and we still need to find a room to sleep in. We’ll talk more when we can lay down,” you told him. You took his hand and guided him throughout the halls of the castle. You eventually found a suitable room and cleaned it up.
“Come on, let’s rest and we can discuss everything,” you said. The both of you laid down and he snuggled his head into your collarbone. After a few minutes you initiated the conversation.
“So do you want to talk abou-“ you looked down at him to see him asleep. You smiled to yourself and ran your fingers through his hair. It could wait until tomorrow, you both did a lot today and he deserved a good night’s rest.
